I went to Vivec as there is a library there that often sells rare and unusual books. When I entered the bookstore I found Huleeya dead. I was surprised that this was even a possibility. I did not know him well but I offer a prayer in hopes that soul may rest in peace. I talked to the Khajiit about the book I was looking for and he had it. One purchase later and I'm sprinting back to Skink to let him have this book. These mages are odd, they don't allow necromancy but the study of an undead creature like vampires is fair game.
Next skink wants to meet with a wise woman from an ashlander tribe. He ruled out Erabenimsum and Urshilaku, but perhaps Zainab or Ahemmusa may agree. I went to Ahemmusa to see since the wise woman is pretty reasonable but she was out. No matter, I ran back to Zainab, and the wise woman there asked me to speak with the Ashkhan. He rejected my request and now it seems I must return to Ahemmusa. The wise woman returned from her duties but she too will not go to this meeting. I am now troubled as to how I can resolve this.
The wise woman informs me that she has an apprentice who could use this as an opportunity to learn about the realities of Vvardenfell. I made my way to where this apprentice was and I asked if she was interested. She had an open mind and agreed to meet with Skink, but I had to calm down the ancestor in that tomb. I took care of her problem and I went back to the wise woman. She asked me if I dealt with the problem regarding an ancestral spirit there or if it was her apprentice. I spoke the truth and she told me that she would drop her as an apprentice. How harsh.
Skink-in-the-Tree was delighted to meet with the "Wise woman" and I was not rewarded for my efforts. Prick, but he had another task. He expressed grief and told me that a former mage guild had turned to the dark arts of necromancy. I am to find and put an end to this person in a cave called Shal over near Hla Oad. It had been a while since I was in that area so I hurried over. In the cave I encountered a few undead and then the mage herself. I shot a few arrows into her and helped myself to her personal belongings.
A strange thought occurred to me "What if I drank all these potions?" So I drank them all and I felt odd for a little while but that feeling then subsided. As I was making my way back I had been practicing my marksmanship and realized that this is a difficult skill to master. One day I'll get it right and so I made it back to Skink and once more he awarded me with nothing. I get this weird feeling he's treating me like the thieves guild did. Nonetheless, I asked him for a task and he gave me two empty soul gems and soul-trapping scrolls and asked me to find an Ash Ghoul so that he may study it.
