"Now is a good time to really understand magic". I left Balmora's Mages Guild and went back to Ald'ruhn's Mages Guild to seek out Edwinna. She was entirely focused on understanding the Dwemer. My first task was to go and find a book for her to review. She did have other things to do that weren't Dwemer-related, such as going to Sadrith Mora for a potion that Skink-in-Tree's-Shade was supposed to deliver. Again, I'm fully aware of the Mages Guild guide service, I just prefer manual travel. It's the only way to stay in shape and develop combat skills.
A long delivery later Edwinna has me going to the Vivec's sect for another book to "borrow". I didn't really think to ask for permission, I just stole that book. I do feel a little awful about it, but if Edwinna truly means to borrow it then I have faith I'll return this someday. It's a bit clear that Edwinna is a dedicated scholar and does not appreciate disruptions. She had me investigate a problem in Maar Gan. I went and saw that an apprentice had somehow summoned a Scamp and it did not disappear. Perhaps he is talented... or unlucky.
Then I was asked to return the book to Vivec. I knew she wasn't evil... I'm just an idiot for not looking for another copy. I returned the book back in its place and went back to Edwinna, only for her to look for a Dwemer Tube in a ruin near Ald Velothi. I've been there once, it was one of the first Dwemer ruins I stepped into and I was attacked by a ball of some kind. They're called Centurion Sphere. The place is smaller than I expected and I found the tube Edwinna requested.
I returned to Edwinna only to have her send me away to another Dwemer ruin. Something about a report being late. I look at her and wonder "Why isn't she leading the Mages Guild?" She certainly cares about obtaining information, researching, and crafting theories regarding how the Dwemer disappeared. Well, I can aid in her efforts and that's about all I can do. It's up to her if she wants to be named Arch-mage someday.
