I thought I was ready. I thought I could do this. In my sheer arrogance, I took on a mission from Caius that had me seeking out a Sixth House base and destroying its inhabitants. This wouldn't be the first time I would take on such a task. I went to Fort Buckmoth for details on where this house is located. The story she told me of one of the messengers that came back was horrifying, but I would not fall into the hands of these cultists.

I made my way to Gnaar Mok where they told me the base was further north in a cave. I eventually made my way in and fought off the dreamers, Lame corprus, and ash slaves. Everything was going well until I confronted Dagoth Gares. He tells me the message Dagoth Ur sent for me and I crush him all the same. With Gares' dying breath, he cursed me with corprus disease. While the drain effects were minor, I could feel growths spreading throughout my body. My bones were slowly being twisted. It was all agony and I knew I had little time before its effects would truly take over. I made haste.

Caius immediately had a plan: go to Divayth Fyr and see if he could cure me. No Silt or boat service will take me so I must rely on my own two feet to get there. Tel Fyr is a location I'm slightly familiar with so getting lost will not happen. I sprinted as fast as I could to Tel Fyr. Upon getting there I spoke with his 'daughter wives' and they assisted me in locating Divayth. He looked me over and offered a potion with a catch. I must explore his Corprusarium and bring back a pair of Dwemer Boots.

Simple. Get the boots and I get something that could cure me or kill me. "This is it I suppose". Do or die. I never thought that I really could die out here. I have always been cautious since I landed in Vvardenfell. I even kept my nose down and did as I was told back in Cyrodiil. Thanks to my foolishness this could really be it for me. Either become a mindless monster or die. I think back to my sick mother in Kvatch. My father had already passed away and I had no brothers or sisters to look after her.

I was forced into a deal when they took me out of prison. "Go to Vvardenfell. Uriel Septim VII believes that you meet the prophecy of the Nerevarine. We have your mother in our custody. If you perform admirably we will spare her. Do not fail your Emperor." No hesitation. I must do what must be done.

I made great use of the Amulet of Shadows. No one is to be killed down here, they are all patients. I made my way to the bottom of the Corprusarium and was met with another of Fyr's daughter wives and the last living Dwarf. What a fascinating encounter under any other circumstances but I needed the boots he was fixing. I would feel my bones taking a new form. I swiftly made my way back and he had me drink the potion. It worked with a catch: he made it so that any physical deformities would not occur and any drawbacks such as my willpower and intelligence that were drained no longer happen. Instead, I am now blessed with total immunity to Disease, Blight, and Corprus. I am not cured per se but I can go free and not worry about becoming a monster.

I took my time getting back to Caius for I have found new appreciation for Vvardenfell. The winds, the Cliffracers, the Ashlands, all of it seemed beautiful to me. By the time I made it back, Caius seemed uneasy. At first, he was happy that I was better. The other news: he was being recalled to Cyrodiil. I was promoted to Operator of the Blades here in Vvardenfell. It's up to me to put a stop to Dagoth and my new mission: Find Merha Milo.
