Track & Field (Nes) Quick Duel#4 /Do you want to be somebody in sports? Then you need to "MASH" fast!
Any rating of the game given in the video is dependent by the capabilities of the system for which it was released and what kind of experience it provides, of course in Versus/Duel mode.
Track & Field (1987) by Konami is one of the earliest examples of Olympic-themed video games. While not the first, it is an indicator of quality in the years to come. The popularity of this arcade game was immense. Even to this day, it is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the game that helped organize the largest event in the history of video games, attended by more than a million people. This is truly a legacy worthy of admiration. The port on the Nes is really competent and includes as many as 8 disciplines, which include: 100m run, hurdles run, long jump, triple jump, high jump, javelin throw, shooting and archery. Everyone is sure to find something for themselves. The controls in each discipline are very simple. It mainly focuses on quickly mashing one button, holding down one button to adjust the angle / force or pressing the right button at the right time. Nothing complicated, but ultimately very challenging. World records are almost impossible to break without auto fire...... at least in those disciplines where you have to mash quickly. If one is manually capable of this, congratulations. If you want to test yourself against someone, this is almost an ideal option because the controls are so simple that any beginner should easily learn them. I highly recommend it..... just be careful with your controllers.
