Secret of Monkey Island (Amiga) Playthrough/Every genre has its own legend, and this is one of them.
(Point and click is mainly interaction with the environment, it should not be played quickly. Gameplay includes as much interaction as possible, in order to have more immersion with the world).
Secret of Monkey Isnland (1990) by LucasArts is a legend of the genre and one of its main representatives over the decades. Without this game and its numerous sequels, the point and click genre would not be the same. The story of Guybrush Threepwood, at first may seem trivial and ridiculous, but over the course of its many installments it is more complicated and convoluted than one would expect from a game centered on the pirate world. Our adventure starts from the very beginning, where Guybrush wants to become a pirate, and in order to do that he has to undergo tests set by 3 pirate big shots, which every pirate must undergo before starting his pirate career. As it's point and clikc, there is no action or jumping. There's just the slow unraveling of the plot thread, which is the main trajectory of success for any game in the genre. The plot and its presentation is the main driving force behind what makes these games so special. Many consider them boring and slow..... and well because they are supposed to be that way. They force us to think, sometimes outside the box to solve certain problems. It is so satisfying to go through such a game alone without the help of some solution from a magazine or the Internet that not one action game could envy. But this is a matter for the player himself. Today, unfortunately, the point and click genre is already a niche, but still exploited enough that no fan will be able to get bored. I highly recommend this masterpiece to everyone. A refreshed version is also available, but I prefer this one.
