Tyrian 2000 - Engage Mode - Part 45 (Eye Spy)
Trent knows better than to let Javi pull off a Taking You With Me. After destroying the Dreadnaught piece-by-piece, Trent is still left facing a massive ship whose mass is off the scales. Trent incapacitates Javi and lands the finishing blow from a long distance. As expected, the explosion resulting from Javi's Dreadnaught's destruction is astounding, and could have incinerated Trent if he were close.
The explosion outshines the sun on Savara's surface. Javi is dead. Microsol's remaining forces are fleeing Savara. The siege has ended.
But the war isn't over yet. Dougan is one of the few whose ship is equipped with long-range sensors capable to seeing what's happening. Microsol's forces are retreating towards the planet Gyges. This isn't limited to the forces that survived the battles of Ixmucane, Deliani, and Savara; other Microsol ships from other locations are converging to Gyges as well.
Then, distress signals received from Gyges confirm that Microsol is arriving there, and are already opening fire. Nobody knows what their plan is.
Both Deliani and Savara are busy restoring order. Remnants of Microsol's forces on the ground still control areas and must be defeated. Trent decides to fly alone to Gyges and face the horrors that await him.

Eye Spy With My Little Eye... Something beginning with "What the hell is going on".
I meant it when I said Episode 4 had some new enemies. If the new aircraft weren't enough, here you'll fight...
... facial organs.
Lips, eyes, ears. The worst part is the story actually makes sense.
You're on Gyges. After taking out the Microsol fleets on Deliani and now Savara, with the help of allied forces, those worlds are safe, if not damaged. Dougan informs you, however, that the remaining Microsol ships are going to Gyges. So you go there.
Then you receive a message that some dudes on Gyges were receiving a shipment of "organics" when they were attacked.
"Organics"? And Gyges is the largest mass of organic substance in the universe, according to the game. Not sure whether you're fighting Microsol fleets or Gygian aliens.
As for the level, some weird things are to be noted. Some small white eyes are invulnerable. You can tell if they have blue stars shooting out of them, upon being touched by your weapons (this is the case for most enemies in the game). Sometimes paired with a green eye, they explode when the green eye is killed. Sometimes.
Then there's the blue eyes. Those are extremely damaging if you touch them, for some reason. At a certain point, you'll have blue eyes coming on-screen, shooting some dangerous Scatter Waves (yellow balls), and escaping. Be ready to dodge the Scatter Waves ; it's the hardest part of the level.
Then it's another Eye-boss. That shoots electricity. Level 11 Lightning Cannon ; ouch. Try no to be in front of its face (er, in front of its eye?) when it shoots. It also shoots with Protron Cannon Tangerines.
This game becomes VERY weird in Episode 4, in case you didn't notice.
