Patch 6.1 preliminary patch notes have finally been released and I’m going to do my best to condense the information in it so you can get all the juiciest details about what’s coming up!

Please let me say one quick thing cause it really did bum me out during my patch notes reading, I will move on after and won’t mention it again in this video:
First thing I want to say is from what I gather from the patch notes Hrothgar hair style changes are still tied to Fantasia usage. This makes me so deeply saddened and that combined with the hair changes that removes our ears really bums me out. But yeah this feels almost mean that after 3 years we still need fantasia for our hair. I’m actually not mad but I’m just super super sad.
Viera are getting new hairstyles as well, I don’t think they need a fantasia though.
Okay moving on.
First up is that there will be new mainstory questlines after completing Endwalker added that will begin by speaking with Tataru.
Next up is that there will be a new set of chronicles of a new era, side story missions that are expanded upon through the expansion, starting off with A mission in Mor Dhona speaking with the fresh faced student. This will lead into the brand new alliance raid the agalia
New role quests are also being added that are building upon the prior ones-- worth noting is that this first mission called Bitter Snow has the requirements of a player finishing all of the different role quests! So this is definitely something for everyone to keep their eyes out for and maybe level a few roles you might be missing.
Something that is going to excite a lot of people are that brand new additional rewards have been added for both bicolored gemstone rewards as well as treasure hunt maps! Looking forward to that since I’m still sitting on a map in every inventory slot I could fill… New rewards have also been added for submarines.
Also brand new rewards for mgp and there is the nier pod mount there so I presume this is actually an MGP reward-- I’m very very intensely glad I farmed the MGP vouchers with blue mage before … very excited for this…
More reward reworks actually includes Khloe’s Wonderous Tails! There isn’t anything overly specific about the new rewards though unfortunately. There has been a rework to how these work with you being able to select an option from a variety of activities.
And lastly even retainers are having an expanded selection of ventures which as someone who actually goes out of my way to gear up and set retainers up this is more than welcome to say the least. Finally I can deploy my 10 retainers and make a solid gil profit! Was getting sick of the same trash being flung into my inventory not gonna lie…
Oh yeah and you can now have comments on retainers. For people who are organized. Myself not being one of them.
The duty support system which is the exact same idea as the trust system but for lower levels has been implemented for earlier content. Tons and tons of details in the notes I wish I could go over here. Overall very healthy system for the game!
The Unending Condex was added into the game which acts like an encyclopedia of in game terms for people to refresh themselves on and give more information.
