Splintered is an Indie, Open World, Turn Based Retro RPG offering an old school take on Dragon Warrior / Dragon Quest + Procedural Generation!

A Dragon Warrior Dragon Quest 1 like?
Yes!
Splintered has the old school, 8-bit retro look and feel of the Old Dragon Quest games, as well as similar combat, but here, you have a randomized world, helping to keep the gameplay fresh as you battle through it.
Also unlike Dragon Warrior, doors and chests are automatically opened if you have the key, no need to fuss with the inventory and manually activate them here!

Your Gear Lvls Up Here Too!
In Splintered, your equipped gear lvls up as you do, unlocking new passive abilities, and adding depth to the items you choose to equip.
For example, wands improve your casting, while daggers boost your hit chance, and your crit.
Leather Armor can improve your survivability, and your gold gain, while caster gear grants bonuses for fighting with magic.
There are also Talents you can unlock for completing challenges, hunt down all the monsters listed to unlock and equip the granted power; you can select 2 once you have unlocked them.

Controller Support is present, as is good old Mouse and Keyboard.
I went mostly with the gamepad in the above video, as it felt more nostalgic for me.

Note: This is an early look at the Steam demo for Splintered so any bugs or other oddness is not representative of the final product.
Still, Splintered is a fun Indie, Open World, Turn Based Retro RPG offering an old school take on Dragon Warrior / Dragon Quest + Procedural Generation, and is easily well worth a wishlist and a watch.
