Draw Slasher is a crazy action-game coming from the PS Vita onto your iOS-device. Unfortunately there is no Android-version, which is a shame, cause Draw Slasher is one of the most interesting new games this week. You can download Draw Slaher for €2,69 from the App Store.

In Draw Slasher you are in control of the little Ninja Hanzo. On the way back to his home-village, Hanzo is attacked by Pirate Monkey Zombies. But a true ninja isn't frightened so easily, so Hanzo grabs his sword and sends the attackers back to the happy hunting ground for Zombies. A little later Hanzo realizes that all the inhabitants of his village were kidnapped by the Pirate Monkey Zombies. And now it's up to you to fight the Pirate Monkey Zombies and to rescue your people. The story is told through nice cutscenes between the levels. The cutscenes feature good graphics, voice telling and most important a whole lot of humor. Draw Slasher is somehow reminiscent of the Kung Fu Panda-movies - only with far more blood.

You move your Ninja Hanzo with tap gestures across the screen. With swiping gestures you can attack the enemies. While you can defeat most enemies at the begining of the game with fast and unsighted gestures, Draw Slasher becomes more and more challenging in the later levels. The enemies attack from the air or feature heavy armor, so that you need to find the the weak points of the opponent and to perform very precise swiping gestures. Every now and then a big boss fight awaits you, where you have to show a lot of patience. As you play through the levels of the game, your ninja gains experience and levels up. At each level up you can upgrade your health or your strength with skill points. In each level you learn a special ninja attacke, which can also be upgraded. Each ninja attack is executed via a special touch gesture. For example: With one of those special attacks you can freeze your opponents for a little while, so that you enough time to kill them. Besides the exciting story mode, Draw Slasher features a challenge mode, in which you need to fulfill certain tasks, as well as an arcade mode with endless fights.

My conclusion:
Draw Slasher is without a doubt one of the best slash-titles of the recent months. The graphics are great, the sound atmospheric and the controls simple. The gameplay is easy to learn but challenging and original throughout the game. A beautifull story with lots of humor is rounding Draw Slasher. Draw Slasher is a great representative of the genre and therefore gets a clear download-recommendation. Please write your opinion about the game into the comments. -
