While testing out DSOAL, I was able to get 3 of the Aureal A3D 3.0 demos working with OpenAL Soft HRTF. It seems that the A3D-to-DirectSound3D wrappers won't work with DSOAL, though at least these 3 demos support DirectSound3D so we can still make a direct comparison with A3D's HRTF. The IRC_1058 tables were used because the built-in KEMAR tables were too narrow compared to A3D 2.0. OpenAL Soft compares quite favorably to Aureal A3D 2.0, though admittedly the lack of occlusion and reflection might play a factor in that. OpenAL Soft sounds slightly "thinner", though that's due to the IRCAM tables used. It also sounds cleaner due to the 44khz upsampling.
