Boss time AGAIN! Yeah, the pacing is a little nuts, eh? All that build-up to Fortitudo and then we get all of ONE chapter's build-up with our next target...

Well, here's a demonstration of Portal Kick as we wait for the level to load! Its like Witch Twist, where you hold down the attack button AND dodge in order to spirit yourself away. Unlike Witch Twist though, this one doesn't have much combo potential near as I can tell, and is more used for a flashy ender. It does OK damage, but....it takes too long and leaves me too vulnerable for my liking, so I'll use it sparingly.

One thing I didn't mention last time...I realize scale is big in these games, and Bayo's proportions are all kinds of weird, with Cereza appearing even tinier next to her but...that lollipop has the longest stick! Like, seriously! Its not even a big sucker, just some Dum-Dum pop....

Cereza shows off an...interesting little magical ability here, enchanting glasses for Luka to see what's going on....and he seems to perhaps be putting some pieces together in his head....did he really see Bayo kill his father? TIME WILL TELL.

I gotta say, for whatever reason I like battles in forests. It just looks cool without having to do much! Odd to have an actual playable battle before a boss, isn't it?

Chesire! NOOOOOOOOO!!! This angel must pay! Where is he?! Let me at e-- aw grooooooossss! Can we not fight this guy? He's totes icky.

Iustitia is odd to me (and NOT just because I kept reading that name as Justitia for the longest time).... So far, he's about the only Cardinal Virtue, or even enemy really, to harm Bayo in cutscene form, as minor as it was....and I find him to be one of the easier bosses. I mean, in my first run through this game he was the only boss I didn't die to once.

Of course I say that and he's a bit of a problem here. Seriously, he was NOT this hostile in my practice run! I guess it makes for a more entertaining video though, right? Getting to show off most everything he can do?

So we're on a bunch of raised platforms with purple gunk on the ground (meaning he really was following us all the way back to when we met Cereza proper!), and you'd think falling would be fatal...and you're half-right. No matter what if you fall you're ALWAYS presented with the same QTE in the same way to dodge his attempts to eat you and get back to solid ground. However, this eats up time, which is bad for your score, and if you fail, its instant death.

Other than that, just strike at his exposed....face tentacle while dodging his attacks. He'll spew out plants that attack you while you're trying to fight HIM, spew poison and...try to thrash you but generally they don't hit for some reason....though when the head tentacle thrashes that's more of a pain.

You'll notice I take Shuraba with me again, alongside Durga. They're probably gonna be my go-tos for the rest of the game, really. I'll switch it up when I can though (like trying Odette out on a big boss, maybe). As much as I like power weapons though I'm just not that big a fan of Kilgore. Honestly, Durga Fire can hit harder a lot of the time and I find it easier to use...they all have their benefits though.

Once you do enough damage we'll pull a Temperantia and run along the boss to get to some juicy weak points! And then Bayo....is somehow able to slash it to bits with just her bare hands....why can't I do THAT in the game?!

Lather, rinse, repeat and he'll go down without too much trouble, really. I'm surprised there isn't a real second phase...though chucking a SECOND platform for you to punch through is something, I guess...

Time for another new demon, Scolopendra! Known as the Eradicator of Paradise, its...a gross centipede! Possibly a refrence to a Devil May Cry enemy, it also takes its name from a family of venomous centipede....I'm just glad this is on our side!

What a creepy little child voice! The plot thickens...and muddies, maybe? A Luman Sage?! Eyes of creation that can start a new cycle?! Remember when we were just looking for a gem?

"My new best friends?" AWWW, she DOES care!

Onwards! But where to next? Well, we ARE in an airport....
