Back from our trip through the Alfheim, its Easter Egg time! When defeating the final Angel in a Verse with a Tetsuzanko AND obtaining a Pure Platinum rank on that Verse you'll hear Bayonetta say "Juu'nen hayain da yo!" This is the catchphrase of Virtua Fighters' own Akira Yuki, and one of his signature moves is a shoulder slam, much like the Tetsuzanko. Since Sega owns both Virtua Fighter AND Bayonetta, this is a clear shout-out to Akira. Neato! For those curious, that roughly translates to "You're ten years too early (to beat me)!" Its a pretty stock Japanese phrase. I guess our equivalent would be to say that someone's too green or something...

Yeah yeah, enough trivia....Jeanne 3 is ready to go! Battling atop a plane sure is fun, huh? And mentioning Cereza seems to strike a nerve with Bayo....Jeanne's gonna regret that! Huh, even that old statue Bayo swiped in Paradiso has no effect on Jeanne...she's really into fighting Bayo...to help her accept her fate?

Jeanne 3 is a pretty intense bout. You don't really see it here, but Jeanne also has a sword of her own, with attacks not unlike Shuraba, including the quick draw move! What we DO see are some new Wicked Weaves from Jeanne as well as her bike! The phase with the bike is a neat twist, though she's usually easy enough to dodge here. We finish in style, switching from Shuraba to Durga for the final blow! "She's not ready." Oh just admit you lost, Jeanne! Go running home to that...thing you were talking to!

Now the plane is electrified, and its a real pain to deal with. I had read that placing Durga Lightning on your feet allows you to walk on the electrified floor without taking damage...but in practice it doesn't help as much as you'd expect. Since its electrified water that's constantly rising...I still end up getting hurt, it seems. However, Crow Within helps with navigating some areas...

I decided to change up my weapons mid-level, THINKING it'd help but....yeah, not quite! So we finally found Cereza. She was alive after all! Somehow she got onto this plane...just don't question it! Now, you'd think any scene with Cereza would be worthy of a cinematic, but apparently not.

With Cereza in tow its time for MORE Out-of-Body Battles! In a cramped space. With electrified water constantly filling it up. Ugh. The key here is to keep moving Cereza forward as the enemies filter in, though that final section is where things get a little more annoying...

I chose the whip thinking it'd help with the Enchants...but it didn't go so well. Being unable to dash or dodge while holding Cereza also makes you a prime target for getting shot in the back. In practice runs this last Verse went fine, and getting Cereza all the way up to the top BEFORE fighting went without a hitch...notso here! Ugh, just glad to be done with this.

For those curious, the two Verses I missed are right before the Jeanne fight. After you beat all the Decorations if you jump to the left of the screen you'll find a turbine. You'll fight enemies in there for a Verse and at the end of the Turbine there's an Alfheim portal. However, I find it a real pain. The turbines suck you in and you can't dodge the blades no matter the timing it seems. You can only slip through the blades through Witch Time by dodging enemy attacks...there might be SOME trick to getting through it all, but it didn't seem worth it.

We're getting ever closer to our goal, but Jeanne and that creepo Cardinal Virtue she was talking to aren't going to make it easy for us, are they?
