Bayonetta - Chapter 4
ANOTHER LP huh? Yeah, we're getting weapons left and right, which isn't a bad thing at all! While we won't be using Kulshedra in this Chapter, let me talk about it slightly - I'll elaborate on its combat abilities next Chapter.
First off, have some Federic Chopin, with the song Fantaise-Impromptu being used to draw demons out. Oddly enough, this piece was published after Chopin's death, despite having completed it twenty years or so prior to his death. He didn't want unpublished works published, apparently. Oops!
Kulshedra draws its name from Albanian folklore. A serpentine dragon, Kulshedra fed off of human sacrifices and caused droughts. Its also known as a Bolla. There's your factoid of the day!
And now we finally have a name for old Two Head, Fortitudo. A Cardinal Virtue is a major battle, and for that, Bayo goes into Serious Mode (yeah, that's the term!). In this form, all attacks are Wicked Weaves, and I chose Shuraba mostly due to it having increased range, which helps when Fortitudo is otherwise out of range.
Starting off with a lunge, we'll take that free Witch Time damage, thank you! Attack Fortitudo enough and he'll grow dazed, falling to the ground. Use that opportunity to- JESUS, BAYO! Do you even lift? Apparently! We'll take some more free damage and it seems I got Fortitudo's health down enough to trigger the next phase of the fight. As he flies away, I decide to refill my magic a bit by taunting. After a few pillars of lava erupt, Bayo automatically goes into Witch Time and you jump up to Fortitudo....and yeah, no more Two Head, huh?
Oh hey, here's that hourglass again! Hope you enjoyed it, cuz we're neeeeever gonna see it again! Hey, it bailed me out of Fortitudo making things more treacherous. Well, the first time anyway...Man, are those fireballs FAST now! At least you can bat them back at Fortitudo in Witch Time...
Moving onto the final phase, we're launched into the air and have limited time to get things done! If you couldn't tell, I REALLY just wanted the fight over with by now...Truth be told I DID finish this phase quick enough so that you don't see one of Fortitudo's attacks, where he lands on the platform you're on and fights you there. Hey, at least you see his headbutt that I REALLY should have dodged! Man, that hurt! And that laser! Look at that magic pixel health!
And so, we finish this annoying featherface off (I think that's a DMC shout-out) and have a new summon! Meet Malphs! Don't worry, we'll see more of it later.
As Bayo decends, there's so many questions. Who was Fortitudo talking to? Who is Jubileus? Just WHO is talking all creepy to Bayo? Why is the stick in that sucker to comically long? Will we find this all out next time? Maybe, I dunno.
(I can't believe I actually got Gold on this fight, even with all that damage. Too bad that luck won't hold out next time....ugh)
