I consider Bayonetta a hard game overall…but we ain’t seen nothin’ yet! Hard Mode can be accessed at any time, but uh…I do not recommend doing so your first time through the game. As you go up in difficulty, enemies become more aggressive, seem to do more damage and take less damage, and oftentimes encounters will be shaken up by enemies that shouldn’t be there! There are also other crows to find in different locations, so if you want all the Umbran Tears of Blood they carry…you gotta go through the game roughly twice.

Let’s show off how different things can be where it all began with the Prologue! I’m accessing this from my main file, of course, and as such I have Scarborogh Fair already….not that it matters! Its all not TOO bad here though until suddenly Grace and Glory pop in! Seriously? That’s like five Chapters early! Yeah, get used to that.
No, the real part where Hard mode got me was in the second Verse, during the Torture Attack tutorial. No way to initiate Witch Time here, and we have to use Torture Attacks on THESE things? Noooope. I’m sure Route 666 won’t be too bad – oh, COME ON! Gracious and Glorous (and whoever that third one is!) AND speeding cars?! Ugh, I want the Joys back… We’ll end things with Balder. Honestly, I don’t think the bosses get too much different, just faster and more aggressive…I think Balder definitely feels more like a final boss here though! Once you beat Hard mode, you unlock Nonstop Infinite Climax Mode…I have no idea how terrifying that must get…

While we're here, I'll talk about the unlockable Weapons and Accessories, hmm?

First, there's the Eternal Testimony. It instantly replenishes your Magic Meter when its empty, but you need 500,000 Halos to buy it and earn 50 Umbran Tears of Blood. The Bracelet of Time lets you activate Witch Time at will, but you need to speed run and beat the game in under 3 hours on Normal Mode to get it. Costs 200,000 Halos. The Climax Brace is earned when you get ALL Umbran Tears of Blood, all 101 of them, costs 500,000 Halos and has Bayo automatically enter "serious mode," so all attacks are basically Wicked Weaves. Now, if you clear the game on Easy you can purchase the Immortal Marionette for 100,000 Halos. This…basically plays the game for you! You’ll be moved towards enemies automatically and the game will dish out combos as you mash away with nary a care. Your score is halved if used on Hard or Non-Stop Infinite Climax modes.

As for weapons, there’s one that I really want but otherwise can’t get. Saifung, nunchucks that double as guns, can only be obtained by playing through 100 Chapters in the game. While sounding fun, there’s NO way I’m grinding out all those Chapters to do so. Then there are futuristic laser guns, Bazillions. They are unlocked by beating all chapters on Hard. They’re slightly stronger than Bayo’s signature guns, and fire strong laser beams when the attack button is held down, but other than that…meh. Then there’s Pillow Talk, a beam sword that is unique in that no attacks produce Wicked Weaves. Its moveset is overall similar to Shuraba, though it is weaker. By charging it up, you can extend its blade for a few seconds and drastically increase its power. You obtain Pillow Talk by beating every Chapter on Non-Stop Infinite Climax mode…good luck with THAT.

There is ONE other weapon that exists though, obtained by beating Father Rodin, the Infinite One. They are…Rodin. Four halos, equipped on both Bayo’s hands and feet simultaneously, these allow you to bring up the Angelic Weapons as you combo foes. They do the most raw damage of just about any weapon, but are slow and don’t earn you many combo points. Certainly a cool reward…makes me wish I was good enough to get them!
That, for the most part, deals with all the weapons and goodies the game has to offer…well, except for Lost Chapter: Angel Slayer.

Beating all Alfheim challenges unlocks this marathon of a battle. 51 fights split across five Verses, the difficulty starts at Normal and keeps going up into Nonstop Infinite Climax. Included in some of these are, say, three Jeanne’s at once and the final boss? Bayonetta herself! Who is basically Jeanne, but hey, its still cool! Beating THAT unlocks another playable character, Little King Zero. The Infernal Communicator Accessory summons little devils that are minions of Zero and he can summon them too. He can take three hits at maximum, and has his oddities, but I admittedly don’t know too much about him. If you unlock him, you’re something else!

We have one last video to go, a showcase of all of Bayo’s costumes! Join me then!
