Bravely Second Session 5: Can Yew Take Me Higher?
0Okay, so, for whatever reason, Citra build 1850 did not like me using the moon colony screen inside the Grand Mill Works. Rolling it back to 1846 made it work again, but after recording, I tried 1850 again in a town and it seemed fine. Weird.
Anyway! This is a familiar little dungeon, isn't it? Although, last time, I'm pretty sure I skipped all the encounters. Anyway, just as before, the main point is to flip the two levers on either side of the elevator to open the way forward.
Now, it's a small dungeon, and I accidentally cut the recording short when I meant to pause it, so I'll tell you right now, this half is mostly just fighting. There's me struggling to deal with the Iron Men, then me realizing I could use a couple of attack items to take them all out. It's so cruel that they have 1155 HP when the most I can get out of a single Zeus's Rage is 1125 damage.
There is a run-in with Janne before the boss, though. He explains what his deal is: when the Anticrystalists came along to overthrow the Orthodoxy, the Crystalguard surrendered. However, not everyone in the Crystalguard agreed with the surrender, and that includes Janne's family of House Balestra. His parents were killed for their dissent and he wants revenge.
He won't get it himself, though. He's brought along a... thingy. A thingy called Amphisbaena. Amphisbaena is a weird two-headed worm-like dragon thing. It has two targets, and one absorbs physical attacks while the other absorbs magic. It likes to poison you and hit you with a party-wide physical attack. It also likes to randomly shuffle its heads around, so you'll want a good way to figure out which is which.
More importantly, if you don't have any way of doing magic damage, you literally can't win! Guess what my first loadout was like. Oops.
