At last, we've arrived at Florem, the Land of Radiant Flowers! As soon as we set foot on land, we spot the Skyhold heading for the Temple of Water, just as expected. Suddenly, a giant beam strikes it, setting it on fire! The gang checks in with Agnès, and luckily she's fine, but the Skyhold will have to settle in the mountains for repairs. There's also a call from Magnolia's commander, Appleberry. He says there was a powerful SP reading from Luxendarc. Obviously that was the beam attack, but who was responsible? The gang decides to ask around the city.

There, they find things abuzz as people prepare for the new Flower Festival or whatever. They haven't held one since Agnès made her appearance two years ago, and they've made this one an *inner* beauty pageant. They've even opened it up to men, allowing for both a Flower Maiden and Bloom Groom. Good for them! The gang decides to check in with the Matriarch and fill her in on what's going on.

She introduces them to the quiet vestaling, Sylvie, and they take her to the Temple of Water to put up a barrier around the Water Crystal. It's... pretty uneventful. There's no incident there or on the way back. When they return, though, the festival is underway. After dropping off Sylvie, though, there's a scream by the entrance. The empire is attacking!

Yew, Magnolia, and Tiz decide to fight them off while Edea rushes to the festival stage to warn everyone to evacuate. Suddenly, a man appears, calling himself Geist the Bloody. He cuts down the MC and one of the contestants, then unleashes his real power, simply called "Undo". Just like that, the two people he killed are back on their feet like nothing ever happened. Edea attacks Geist, dealing a hefty blow, but he Undoes the attack and makes himself as good as new. Things look bad for Edea, but once again, Alternis manages to save her.

Alternis's power to draw strength from the damage he takes makes him a formidable opponent for Geist, so Geist withdraws. The people, so moved by Edea's attempt to protect the people of Florem and Alternis's heroic rescue decide that they're the ultimate power couple and name them Flower Maiden and Bloom Groom. Good for them! The others make their comments, and Magnolia drops a little French--I mean, Moon Language on them, which catches the attention of a certain someone in the crowd.

That someone introduces himself as a member of the Sagitta tribe, a very secretive people who aim to protect Luxendarc from Ba'als. Hey, that's just like Magnolia's people! He agrees to show the gang the way to his hidden village, where they can exchange information, like... what was up with that giant beam.

Of course, that can wait until after the new sidequest. Chancellor U. DeWitt of Al-Khampis has been tasked with conducting a survey about a new school in Florem and inspecting the Twilight Ruins. She thinks it's too much work, so she "delegates" the survey to... Edea. Why? I dunno, wrong place, wrong time. Basically, though, she needs to determine whether Florem's new school should be coed or not.

On one side, Rhea Veeling, a former soldier of the Bloodrose Legion, wants separate schools for boys and girls. She's actually from the region, and she deeply regrets the harm she caused as a part of the Bloodrose Legion, so she says she wants to preserve the culture. Einheria Venus, Valkyrie and former commander of the Bloodrose Legion, admires the nobility of her cause and agrees to help her.

On the other side, Swetti Tracsute, a former soldier of the Eternian Sky Knights, believes boys and girls should go to school together. In his time as a Sky Knight, he felt that there was a deep sense of camaraderie that transcended things like gender, and he wants to pass that forward to future generations. Barras Lehr, Monk and former helmsman of the Sky Knights, doesn't really get what this is all about, but he admires Tracsute's passion, so he's all in.

And at the Twilight Ruins, I choose to side with Tracsute so I can get the Valkyrie asterisk. It's capable of group physical attacks, which is a tool I feel like I'm missing from my belt right now. The Monk offers high-powered physical attacks, but only single-target, so I'm not as interested in it for now.

And that covers it this time. Next time, we'll head to Sagitta to speak with their elder, maybe figure out why they have an SP laser. Tune in next time!
