It took every ounce of restraint I could muster to not put "Star Fox" in the title, but know that I was thinking about it the whole time.

The ruins of Old Sagitta are, like many ruins are in fantasy RPGs, a place of highly advanced technology. Here we have intangible walls and invisible floors, likely meant to deter people from poking around where their noses don't belong. We're here to see if there's anything we can learn about SP that could help us get to the Skyhold.

Unfortunately, all we can find inside are what amount to old newspaper articles. First is the invention of the "spatiotemporal compass," which we lost to the kaiser a while back, invented by a man named Altair. Then, there's the article about its theft and a man named Sagitta who takes responsibility for failing to keep it safe by swearing that he and his descendants will protect Luxendarc. Finally, there's an obituary for Altair, as well as a list of his inventions--including an airborne battleship named the Sagittarius.

Armed with this knowledge, the gang heads back to modern Sagitta and ask Lotus about it. He tells them that, yes, he's heard of the Sagittarius, but it's a bit of a no-go. The only surviving part of it is its main battery: the SP cannon. He suggests that Yew and company take the night to rest after all that journeying.

But Yew, somewhat upset about dragging everyone all over the place for nothing, has a secret plan of his own. There's one place of Sagitta they haven't explored, and he wants to investigate it. See, there has to be *some* way they keep the village floating, so surely there must be something capable of flight, right? So, when everyone else is asleep, he sneaks off to lurk around. Except, of course, Magnolia isn't actually asleep. She decides to tag along with him.

So they poke around, encountering unfamiliar objects and investigating them, only to find... nothing of use. He has guesses and ideas, but nothing pans out. And honestly? I didn't think to say it while playing, but I kinda like this moment. Sure, its main purpose is to show Yew's unflinching optimism, but I just like how they don't know what they're looking for, and when they do find something of interest, it's not the answer they're looking for.

It's a brief moment, however, as The Man With The Purple Pen makes his return. He tells them that what they need is just around the corner, right outside. Yew investigates, and after a dramatic moment, they (re)discover levistone. Yew and Magnolia return and find Edea, who woke up to find everyone missing. The three go after Purple Pen Man, who's standing atop the cannon.

They approach the shadowy figure, and learn that it's... Tiz! Except not. Kinda. It's Tiz's body, but controlled by the spirit of Altair, the same one the gang heard about in Old Sagitta. His soul was in that stone that Professor Norzen gave us to revive Tiz, and now, he's finally ready to meet the others face to face. He says he knows what Kaiser Oblivion is up to, but he's interrupted by a scream.

It's Geist the Bloody, and before he can cause any harm, it's time to fight. At first it seems hopeless, but Altair uses the village's SP tank to counteract Geist's time control power so we have a fighting chance. With his defeat, Altair is free to explain the exact method by which the kaiser plans to destroy the world. Also, the SP cannon has no ammo.

After asking Lotus and Sirius for a favor, the gang heads to the Temple of Water to stop the Empire's forces. When they arrive, they see Agnès awakening the Water Crystal. Gasp! But they're too late to stop her, and she and the cryst-fairy Anne leave us a couple of fights to deal with, including with Nikolai.

Nikolai offers his motivation: he saw the corruption of the Crystalguard and the Orthodoxy firsthand, and the pain and death it caused. He feels responsible for it, and this is his way of atoning. Yew, however, refuses to see the world unmade; he wants to improve this one instead. And so, they clash. Nikolai falls, proud of Yew.

Meanwhile, Kaiser Oblivion and Anne are on the verge of completing their plans. They think it's just them at this point, but suddenly Janne appears, battered but alive. Together, they make for the boundary between worlds.

The Exorcist job is really creative, I think. The power of Undo allows you to revert certain changes to a previous state, like HP, MP, status, and even BP. Undo attacks to heal, Undo healing to attack, even Undo your mage's MP usage. It's a neat idea, to be sure!

Anyway, next time, we'll find out what favor Lotus and Sirius are doing for us, and chase after the Kaiser!
