At this point, there is nothing that can be done in Tunlan, but one important item to retrieve is Rod5 which is the best fishing rod and a necessity for fishing out Ryu's Dragon arms. Although it might be strange that Karn could not open the Tunlan safe, it is revealed later on that it is a combination lock. I guess the master thief can only pick locks and not cryptic ones.

This is also the point when Gobi should consider item scouting in the Flea Market. Items to keep out the look out for are:

Dark Dagger (DarkDR) - Karn's most powerful dagger
Sleeper - The most powerful weapon for the stupid fish himself
Angle Armor (AngleAR) - Powerful, magic reflective armor for Nina and Bleu
Agile Hat (AgileHT) - Arguably the most useful helmet in the game
Cure2 - Heals the entire party completely

It took me a while to gather all I need from the Flea Market, although it becomes a real tedium, it still is a hell of a lot better than those ungodly 1/128 enemy drop rates in other RPGs. Be sure to take this opportunity to arm your characters properly, because the above items will be lost forever after you lose Nina later on.

Fishing in 2 wells we discover an ancient slab that essentially reveals the location of Ryu's ultimate Dragon Power and a DragonSD. The sword is the best available for the time being, but it is still better to keep the B. Rang handy.

Revisiting Tantar and Gant don't elaborate on much, but there was one item I missed back in Prima which is the TideHT. Strange as nothing in the environment suggests there were even items around to begin with. Although this helmet offers 0 defense and 0 offense, I've read that it defends against instant death spells and from the upcoming swarm of Dark Fleas and bosses that use them, this is a clear sign of relief. I always missed this item in previous playthroughs, so hopefully it works as advertised. Because when your fused Karn is downed by a single cheap-ass spell (and to a slightly lesser degree, Ryu in Dragon form), you can't help by feel extremely victimized.

The second Dragon Shrine is actually a lot easier than the first one. The prerequisites for entry is to have the DragonSD and have completed the first shrine's trial.

BOSS: Bain [16:41]
The guy only attacks and that's pretty much it. I don't think he even delivers criticals. With the LifeAR equipped, his attacks should hardly phase Ryu. Quickly dispatch him using the Thunder Dragon. You should be safe enough to simply Auto Battle and let it take care of everything. There's no second wind phase so don't worry.

Afterwards, Ryu gains even more powerful Dragon Powers that are upgrades to his first 3. A big difference is that the Fire Dragon and Bolt Dragon can both attack all the enemies each time. Ryu also gains the Gold Dragon ability and this unfortunately is the least useful of ALL his Dragon Powers. It is essentially Ryu casting a Zom spell on every enemy, and since the spell only affects undead foes, which are few in number, there is little it can provide. The only undead bosses are all in the scrap heap since we've already beaten Morte, Mortea and Morteo.
