Before heading towards the connecting cavern to Auria, visit both the cursed woodcutter and the fairies that enchanted him, this'll come into play later.

Shadow enemies emerge and begin the trend of enemies that can cast instant death (Shock) on your chars and it appears to work like 75% of the time for them. I really hate instant death spells in ANY GAME, the worst offender I remember though, is the Dragon Quest series.

Auria is the most creatively designed town in the entire game, the designers clearly went all out for the Golden town and made sure the environments fit this characteristic. You can get arrested more than once, either from opening a lone chest in the NE residential house or walking too close to the guard behind the Dragon Lord Shrine. Be sure to buy Vitamins and a Pouch. Buying equipment here is not advised, since the next town is significantly cheaper with more options. And if you think being thrifty at this point is NOT an option... you really don't have that choice. The only equipment worth buying is a Tiara for Nina and that's it in my opinion. You must buy a Gold Bar (G. Bar) for 65000 Gold, it is necessary for later on.

A few errands can net you some more money:
20000 Gold for rescuing the woodcutter (must've met him before speaking and confirming with the mother)
20000 Gold for the back rub from Nina
5000 Gold for the Vitamins to the bar patron with the hiccups

The accumulated amount doesn't reach 65000 Gold but comes close, and if you still have some gold in storage, you should be able to buy a Gold Bar already.

Camlon should've been rebuilt by now, so why not visit them. Nice to see they've erected a statue for Ryu in his honor for his efforts in clearing the castle and stopping the Dark Dragons in Nanai. This town actually becomes the cheapest place to purchase items, quite literally. Items are priced at 20% cheaper which is a good thing when you need to stock up on Lifes and Cures later on.

Bleak is as it sounds, a town with a really bad outlook... and reputation. Don't eat ANY potatoes, they always damage the lead char. Having the Pouch nets you 5000 Gold and infinite free stays at the inn, OTHERWISE you lose lots of money after each night there UNTIL you get a Pouch. In which case, after catching the thieving landlord, you can deposit the item into storage or sell it. The residents do talk differently depending on who's in the lead, for instance if Nina is in front and you talk to the dancing matchmaker girl, she'll say she has a sixth sense rather than baiting Nina into her scam. Likewise Karn will interact differently with the residents here. The chief trades the Icicle for the Gold Bar and thus the heroes head towards the desert to locate Karn.

If you haven't got enough money for the Gold Bar in Auria, your only bet is to battle Gold Slimes, while they don't drop necessarily a whole lot based on their namesake, they're your only viable option at this point. Beware of their Freeze spell that can inflict 60HP to a single target and their strong physical attacks.

To see Chun Li, say no TWICE to the magician and then YES. This'll cost you 100 Gold.
