With the command of FFG (improved frigate), it's time to take the ship out and do some missions.

We are near the Federation interior, and Federation is at war with the Klingons, and always fighting Orion pirates.

First mission, we are fighting a pirate ship, and that's where a bit of rookie mistake crept in. But we were able to destroy the Orion pirate ship (another frigate-sized raider) after some struggle.

I chose to trade the FFG for an FFD plus, basically a missile frigate, that can shoot three drones at a time, instead of waiting to charge photon torpedoes.

Our next missions had us protecting a bunch of freighters against no less than 3 pirate ships. Fortunately, they are all rather small ones, and the freighters *can* defend themselves, slightly. So I basically waited for the ships to get closer, than started hitting one at a time. One of them had a cloaking device, but that just delayed its death. As freighters all plinked the pirates, I got in, picked the weakest one, and started shooting the missiles. They don't always hit, but they tied up his phasers, so my phasers can punch through his weakened shields. And if one of those missiles hit, kaboom. A couple freighters were damaged, but none seriously, whereas we managed to destroy all hostiles. That netted me over 200 prestige, and I need 400 to get a companion ship (I can have 2 other ships so I can form a 3 ship squadron) I think I will get another FFD plus, rather than upgrade to a bigger ship.

Repairs for the second battle were quite cheap.

Then it's time to check what missions are out there...
