27-AUG-1984 Murmansk, USSR
We have resupplied the Victor II, K-371. I am only taking the TEST-71s and 65-73s as I don't need anything else. The former are wire guided torpedoes comparable to the NATO Mk 48 (albeit, probably a few generations back, but better than SET-65s) and dual purpose, while the 65-73s are dedicated long-range wake-homing anti-surface torpedoes perfect for chasing down convoy ships that scattered.
Our orders are to chase down a replenishment convoy operating near "Western Norway".
29-AUG-1984 Just northwest of Bergen, Norway
We see the convoy transiting the GIUK gap, and intercepted it.
Soon we caught a Perry class frigate and an Adams class destroyer leading an AOR Oiler.
I fired 2 65-73s but both missed. I fired a TEST-71 toward the Adams as the Perry seem to have a stuck rudder, just making a circle at flank speed.
The Oiler was sunk by a long-range 65-73 shot, and the Adams was sunk by the TEST-71. We left the Perry circling.
And the war continues in the next episode.
