Chrono Trigger: Enhansa Edition is a hack by inuksuk that rebalances things such as characters, equipment, techs, and so on to provide a harder challenge overall.

To get the patch, you'll need to join the NGPlus discord. A link to join it is located here:

Version being played: 0.4.4

Not heading to 12000 BC just yet as there's two things to get done in this video.

The first thing is rather minor in nature, but it'll save me some time for a sidequest later on. This involves purchasing some Jerky for 9900 gold at the Porre Snail Stop in 1000 AD. Take the jerky to the mother in the Porre Elder's House, then offer it to her for free.

The other thing to do in this video is to give Fiona a hand in getting the desert around her villa reforested. To do that, we need to exterminate a specific monster inside that sand whirlpool.

For your team, you need either Frog or Marle for this. Marle works best because she has the amazing Haste buff.

As for your other slot, it'll need to be someone that has good physical might. Ayla hits like a freight train, even if you didn't take her down a full power boosting stat gain course.

Now, for this dungeon inside the whirlpool...it's only two rooms big with the boss in the second room. If you want the loot here? Be ready to deal with the two enemies that show up in this room, Mohavors & Hexapods. Both of these enemies hit WAY harder than anything up to this point.

Both of the new enemies also have a gimmick where they take 0 damage from all elemental attacks and have very high physical defense. Water or ice elemental spells will cause their physical defense to plummet.

The items in the first room consist of a Lapis, Full Ether, Elixir, and Aeon Suit.

In the second room, the boss wakes up when you step down into the sand. It'll appear near any of the chests in the sand during your time here.

The items in second room consist of a Full Tonic, 5000 gold, Full Ether, Memory Cap, Muscle Ring, Aeon Helm, and Hyper Ether.

One timeskip after saving and I bring in Ayla & Marle. In reality, I actually tried the upcoming fight with Robo & Frog and got beat up pretty hard.

The boss is Retinite, an upgraded version of Zombor from long ago. Like with the other two enemies here, it's immune to all elemental damage and has very high physical defense, but water or ice magic will kill that defense.

As for attacks, there's some strong single target moves on tap, enough to bring someone from full to death if they get focus fire'd. The real danger though is that new target in the middle. If it falls, the top half can start using two powerful shadow AoEs.

Marle here makes this fight very possible at these levels and it's all thanks to Haste. She gets everyone setup with the buff, then spams Ice to keep a part's defense down.

Ayla's only task is to do damage. Rock Throw does ~700+ damage to the top half. Bottom half can't be hit by Rock Throw, but Cat Attack does the job well enough after the top half falls.

Crono can do some minor damage with Spincut, but he's going to be the healer using Full Tonics while keeping Ayla's mp up.

Once the top half falls, this battle's won. Nothing the bottom half does is dangerous and can be easily patched up with a Full Tonic.

If the core is the final survivor as it was here, it'll run away on its next turn.

Once the boss is dead, grab anything you didn't pick up here and leave the dungeon. Return to Fiona's Villa and speak to her so she can begin the forest revival process. Robo wishes to stay behind so he can give her a hand. Agree to this, then go hop on the Epoch and head to 1000 AD.

The forest revival plan went off smoothly and now there's a big sea of trees. In the middle of it all is Fiona's Shrine. In the back is the enshrined Robo, but also of interest...one of the nuns has some shiny helmets for sale. All of them block certain ailments.

After reactivating Robo, there's an interesting campfire scene while Lucca does some maintenance on Robo.

The scene eventually ends up with everyone in a siesta minus Lucca who you gain control of. Head east to find a gate and activate it. It's all red though and, on the other side of the gate, is Lucca's House. Turns out it took her back to a very pivotal moment of her life.

What's different though is that the present era Lucca can change her mother's fate. There's a notepad in the kitchen that states that Lara is the password to stop the machine. Examine it when it activates and punch in the code to stop it. This adds another notepad to Lucca's room you can view before heading back through the red gate.

Back in the present time, she runs into Robo who hands over the last reward in this sidequest, the Green Dream accessory. This allows a character to auto revive one time per battle.

More next time!
