Chrono Trigger: Enhansa Edition is a hack by inuksuk that rebalances things such as characters, equipment, techs, and so on to provide a harder challenge overall.

To get the patch, you'll need to join the NGPlus discord. A link to join it is located here:

From there, locate the Enhansa Edition channel under the mods tab where you can download the patch from the pinned messages.

Version being played: 0.4.4

Lavos came down with an earth shattering kaboom in the prehistoric era, but left behind a crater that, when examined more closely, has a gate inside.

After heading through the gate...well, we're not anywhere near Lavos, but at the same time the scenery outside is unlike anything the team's seen before. Best for us to explore this new era!

Outside the cave, there's two ways you can go. Northwest leads to Terra Cave, but there's a ladder nobody can reach. Southeast from the cave leads to a teleport that warps everyone into the sky.

In this aerial zone, the first town, Enhasa, is next to where you exit from the teleporter.

Talking to people around Enhasa, it seems like Zeal's the place where dreams can be realized...oh, and a curious kid that claims someone in the party will soon perish.

Before leaving Enhasa, there's a hidden secret you can unlock involving three books. If you open the northeast one first, then the northwest one, then the one by the entrance, a bookcase lowers. Inside is a Nu who wants to challenge your party, then spawns five other Nus for a 6 on 3 brawl.

For this fight, I kept Ayla around because she has a very nice double tech she performs with Crono, Falcon Hit. One of these and an AoE attack will leave the ones you selected close to death.

For beating the Nu squad, you get a pair of Soda Tabs.

Exiting Enhasa, you'll be taking a couple more teleports to reach the other portion of Zeal where the other main town, Kajar, is located.

Before entering Kajar, there's an interesting flying ship currently being built called the Blackbird to the west of town. Completely optional to check out, but it does introduce Dalton.

At Kajar, there's lots of experiments going on for the queen, but there's also a peculiar Nu in the NE room who can't be interacted with at all.

Also in Kajar are those three magical books. Check the northwest one, then the southeastern one, then the one in the center. The reward for this is an accessory, the Black Rock.

Exiting Kajar and heading east leads to a series of teleporters that lead to the heart of the kingdom of Zeal, the palace.

Right away, you'll want to speak to the Nu moving around on the balcony. Agree to scratch his back and you'll locate the Nu's scratch point. Backtrack to Kajar and talk to that Nu with his back turned for a Soda Tab.

Back at the palace, there's lots of people to chat with. Of most importance are two of the queen's heirs, Schala & that death predicting kid, Janus. Right after Schala hands a pendant over to Janus, she's called to the queen's throne.

Before following her, there's one very important thing to do. One of the NPCs in the palace has a tree sapling. Tell her to plant it when prompted.

Up the middle path of the palace, Schala heads through a door to the queen's chambers. We'd follow, but we'll need something first.

If you head back to the palace's main hall, there's a path guarded by a Nu in the northwest. Talk to him so he gets out of the way, then proceed north to the Mammon Machine. Examining the machine will cause Crono to supercharge Marle's pendant. Back to the queen's chambers!

Upon entering the queen's chambers, she's not a happy camper interlopers are coming to invade. She gets Dalton to send an optional fight our way, a Golem.

This Golem has a rather peculiar AI setup. It'll open up with an attack that halves a target's current hp. On its next turn, it'll summon a bunch of energy balls to hit a target rather hard.

If you try elemental attacks, the Golem's peculiar AI will kick in by allowing it to copy attacks of the element it was last struck by.

The strategy's simple enough...One person should be doing only physical attacks while another uses magic to shift the Golem's copy protocol. So long as Crono focuses on healing, you should have no issues until the Golem runs out of hp. It'll pull off one final attack that hits everyone for around 150+ damage.

After the fight, Dalton decides to spring his capture card trap that somehow paralyzes our whole team before they get tossed into the same room as the Mammon Machine.

Not long after that, Schala & Janus step in to the room. Schala uses her powers to release our heroes, then has a big task for us...to rescue Melchior at the Mountain of Woe. The prophet decides to intervene and forces everyone to go back through the time gate, then Schala seals said gate.

The good news? We do have a shiny Pendant to unlock lots of stuff.

More next time!
