Chrono Trigger: Enhansa Edition is a hack by inuksuk that rebalances things such as characters, equipment, techs, and so on to provide a harder challenge overall.

To get the patch, you'll need to join the NGPlus discord. A link to join it is located here:

From there, locate the Enhansa Edition channel under the mods tab where you can download the patch from the pinned messages.

Version being played: 0.4.4

Continuing on with the last bit of this dungeon. Highlight goes out to the one poor Volcano that got on the receiving end of Marle & Ayla's Ice Toss double tech and ate over 4000 damage. That's what happens when your magic defense is bad AND you have a crippling weakness to water element attacks!

The final gate before reaching Azala has a similar method to unlocking like the one before Nizbel II. Room to the east of the gate with switches to step on for various events. Top middle switch near the dino skull makes a save point appear, left switch opens up two big gaps in the room, and right switch drops some poor enemies down to their doom with the left switch already activated. You actually just need to examine the dino skull to open it up and get at the gate switch inside (and the Full Ether in the egg chest too).

Once you pass through the final gate, it's clear Azala's aware that the Reptite race is fated to perish. Probably got something to do with that red star in the sky...or the giant dino roaring at the team with Azala throwing in her own battle cry as a killer boss theme begins.

Azala's mainly focused on single target attacks that do a bit over 100 damage. Nothing a Mid Tonic can't repair. She also can put a target to sleep or heal herself and the Black Tyrano.

As for the Black Tyrano, it too focuses on single target strikes...at first. The fire breath move hits a bit weaker than Azala's moves if you have Ruby Vests equipped, but it also has a move where it swallows someone whole, then spits them out for roughly 55-60% of the target's max hp in damage, healing the dino for the damage dealt.

Black Tyrano's main nuke stems from sacrificing its defense to charge up a huge flamethrower. This requires five turns during which it'll roar and start sapping everyone's hp. Rage Bands can proc on this roar which is rather amusing to say the least.

In any case, once the timer hits 0, Black Tyrano unleashes a massive torrent of flames at the party, hitting them for 150-200 damage each. That's with Ruby Vests or the Blast Guard too btw. Fortunately though you have plenty of time to dispense heals before the loop starts anew.

First order of business is to delete Azala. You'd think magic is best here, but in reality physicals are much better. Ayla hits like a freight train with Rock Throw and, as such, should not take time to heal unless you slip up and forget to heal.

Crono...he can spam Spincut on Azala or dispense Mid Tonics once the Black Tyrano decides to start eating people.

Robo...well, he does the bonking thanks to the Dream Gun, but he's mainly here to reverse the damage from the Black Tyrano's party wide flame attack. All in all, not too hard of a fight.

After the fight, the identity of the red star comes forth and, as it turns out, it's Lavos. Kino comes in with the dactyl squad to evac everyone sans Azala before Lavos, quite literally, makes an earth shattering kaboom level impact with Azala's lair.
