Chrono Trigger: Enhansa Edition is a hack by inuksuk that rebalances things such as characters, equipment, techs, and so on to provide a harder challenge overall.

Version being played: 0.4.4

We're back in 2300 AD since we have the powered up Pendant and can thus start unlocking all of those sealed chests & doors.

Starting off, we'll check out the Keeper's Dome near Death Peak. If you swung by here earlier in the game, you may have noticed an old man and a Nu around the area. Now though, it's just the Nu.

If you unlock the door in the back, you'll find an area with several messages. These all come from the old man that had just passed on and happens to be one of the gurus of Zeal. He's known as Belthasar, the Guru of Reason, and got punted into this era because some great disaster happened in Zeal.

The guru also glosses over some facts about Lavos that we already have knowledge of. He does mention one thing we didn't know...Lavos is perched atop Death Peak in this era.

What will help though? He's been working on one final invention, a means of transporting to any era in the blink of an eye. It's these so called wings of time, the Epoch (which you do get to rename), that is going to let us return to 12000 BC and continue our quest.

Before you hop on the Epoch, back out to the previous room once the Nu brings in the seats for the machine. There's an easy to miss Soda Tab that only appears once the above mentioned event happens.

First up on our sealed chest collection quest is 600 AD. The Magic Cave that leads to Magus's Castle has the first one to unlock and has a Magic Ring (+6 magic).

Next up in this era, we have to travel to Porre, but on the way, you'll notice a whirlpool stirring in the desert near Fiona's Villa. If you head inside to speak with her, she says the monsters are draining the life out of the soil. She has the means to revive the forest, a mystical sapling. When we had that one NPC in Zeal Palace plant the seedling she had against the queen's wishes, this is the result of that decision.

Speaking of sealed chests, the next pair of them are located in the Elder's House in Porre. These contain some new armors, the Black & White Mails. Both of these armors have good defense and absorbs an element. The Black Mail absorbs shadow while the White Mail does the same for lightning.

Also, very important note here...you normally would have been able to inspect these chests, back out of taking the contents when prompted, pick them up in 1000 AD, then come back and grab the chests here. This hack removes that option as noted by the game telling you the chest vanished from existence.

Three other chests in this era that we can grab right now are at the Truce Inn up north (Blue Mail, absorbs water), Guardia Forest near the exit that would have lead to the time gate (Soda Tab), and Guardia Castle (Red Mail, absorbs fire).

Next up is a quick visit to Lucca's House in 1000 AD. Taban's made a couple new pieces of equipment for us. Lucca gets the Taban Suit (+3 speed, fire damage taken -75%). The other item gained is the Umbrella (Halves water damage taken).

After a quick chat in the End of Time, we take the gate to Guardia Forest 1000 AD. This lets us nab a Power Ring (+6 power) from the sealed chest.

Next, another 1000 AD location, but we'll need to take the Medina Village gate to reach it. It's the chest located in Heckran Cave and has 2 for 1 deal, giving you a Wall Ring (+10 magic defense) & Dash Ring (+3 speed).

That's all the sealed chests we can reach right now. There's one last thing in the Medina region we can do though. That blue diamond north of town? That's another thing that can be unsealed and you'll be given the choice between two chests. The chest on the right contains the Swallow for Crono.

As for the chest on the left, it contains a Safe Helm. Good defense and grants auto-shield. This is what I go with since the weapon will eventually be outclassed.

Finally, there's three sealed doors in 2300 AD to unlock. Taking the Bangor Dome gate in the End of Time is best since you can get that door, the one in the dome to the south, then quick run over to Arris Dome in the east via Lab 16. The items in each dome are as follows...

Bangor - Charm Top, Full Ether, Wallet (Converts all gained exp in battle to gold)

Trann - Soda Tab, Full Ether, Gold Stud (Mp costs reduced by 75%)

Arris - Lumin Robe (M. Def +5, decent armor for females & Robo), Elixir, Hit Ring (Hit +10), Gold Earring (Max hp +50%).

To top off this item collection, there's stat boosting. Acquiring the Epoch unlocks everyone's 3rd set of stat boosts at Toma in the End of Time.

More next time!
