Chrono Trigger Enhansa #6 - Apocalyptic Future
Chrono Trigger: Enhansa Edition is a hack by inuksuk that rebalances things such as characters, equipment, techs, and so on to provide a harder challenge overall.

Our crew's escaped from the shenanigans of Guardia Castle 1000AD's chancellor, but they've arrived in a very messed up future era. Since going back through the portal is a bad idea, we may as well explore this era.
First off, head south and enter Trann Dome. There's some people here that can be conversed with. One mentions some food at Arris Dome to the northeast, but you'll have to get through Lab 16 in the north first.
Finally, there's a shop. Notable items are Iron Helms & Mails as well as Mid Tonics.
When you're ready, exit the dome and head north into Lab 16. The majority of enemies here thankfully can be avoided.
The first screen has two very important pieces of treasure. One is to the east & north past a couple roaming rats. There's a Berserker accessory in , granting the user Shield (physical damage reduced by 33%) and a 50% boost in damage dealt. The only downside is that it makes you lose control of the character.
The second important piece of treasure is a chest with Marle's Bolt Bow. This weapon deals double damage to mechanical enemy types
Not much else really happens besides a couple other pieces of loot (Lode Sword & Ether).
When you get to Lab 16's exit, Arris Dome is a short walk to the east.
As for Arris Dome, there's more survivors inside. One of them, Doan, mentions a giant computer of sorts and a food storage room below, but they're guarded by robots.
As you proceed down the ladder, there's a panel that's sparkling. Keep this in mind for a bit.
On the rafters is a rat statue with a note. Anyone that gets in range of the food storage area will be attacked.
When you get to the exit on the northern end of the rafters, make sure everyone's setup properly. When you go inside, you hear alarms. Trying to move forward into the next room causes a boss to come sailing down.
This boss is known as Guardian and it brings two Bits with it. The Bits only real attack is a laser that does ~25 damage. Not bad, but they are rather tanky.
As for the main boss itself, Guardian is largely counter happy, even going as far as to launch an AoE counter if you hit it while both Bits are still alive.
The strategy here is a bit of a risky one...I'm putting the Bolt Bow + Berserker combo to good use. There's the risk she'll hit the main boss before any Bits are defeated, but that's what Crono's gonna reverse if that happens with Mid Tonics.
If Marle hits one of the Bits? If she crits, the Bit is dead instantly. If not, Crono & Lucca can follow with physicals and drop it in 2-3 attacks.
When the main body is solo, drop everything you're doing and go all out on dealing damage.
After the boss, the team finds the food storage area, but everything's spoiled...except for some seeds. There's also a Plasma Gun (80% stop vs machines) for Lucca in the northwest.
Before leaving the room, examine the man's corpse to find a note stating that rat statue outside knows the dome's secret. Head back to the rafters to find the rat readying up for a chase sequence. Haul tail and you should make it to the rat when it hits the southeastern portion of the room, making the rat cough up a button combo of L+R (both must be held), then hit A. This opens up the way to the east when you examine the sparkly area back south of the rafters.
The enemies in this area aren't too rough to dodge, but there's another L&R + A computer panel to activate. Make your way to the non sealed door and you'll find a computer.
The good news? There happens to be a new time gate to the east in Proto Dome.
The bad news? Marle has to touch everything, but one button she pressed shows a depiction of 1999AD...which promptly got nuked to the ground by a strange ailen entity, Lavos.
While all seems hopeless here, consider the fact them warping to the future may have been the best case scenario because now they have a chance to fix up time and deal with the alien.
Back up by Doan, the seeds represent a chance for the people here to live on. Doan hands over a Bike Key for the Jet Bike in Lab 32.
At Lab 32, examining makes some robots wake up, but someone known as "the man" comes racing in and challenges the team to a jet bike ride.
The rules for this mini game are simple...be in 1st place when you win. Three boosts of speed available, but a charge time is applied before the next can be used.
If you fail the minigame, you can either try again or proceed east through Lab 32. I chose the latter since there's a Bike Log during the stroll.
More next time!
