Chrono Trigger: Enhansa Edition is a hack by inuksuk that rebalances things such as characters, equipment, techs, and so on to provide a harder challenge overall.

To get the patch, you'll need to join the NGPlus discord. A link to join it is located here:

From there, locate the Enhansa Edition channel under the mods tab where you can download the patch from the pinned messages.

Version being played: 0.4.4

Time to head back to 600AD, find Magus, and kick his rear end before he summons Lavos.

Before that though, you'll want to check out the market north of Lucca's house. This is the shop where Fritz, that guy we saved back in Guardia's prison, resides. For saving him, you get 10 Mid Ethers which is quite nice. He also sells the same stuff as Melchior so you don't have to do any time gate shenanigans to get back to the Medina region.

In 600AD, you'll want to head south of Guardia Forest to Zenan Bridge. If you had come here during Crono's first visit to this era, the bridge would have been destroyed. It's repaired now, but the knight captain is in dire need of rations from the castle so head on over there.

At the castle, head east, then north to find the staircase down to the kitchen. Talk to the chef to find out the knight captain is his brother, then attempt to exit the castle. The chef stops you shortly before you reach the castle entrance and hands you the needed food rations along with a free Soda Tab.

Back at the bridge, hand the rations over to the knight captain. He's quite happy...right as Magus's army decides to launch an offensive. You can charge west onto the bridge, but talk to the captain first and agree to help for a free Gold Helm.

On the bridge, there's not much to mention. One of Magus's cronies, Ozzie, tries to sic a bunch of undead on the party in two separate battles. They don't do squat for damage though so bust up the undead, then smack Ozzie once to make him run.

After the second fight, you'll want to put that Flame Arrow & a Berserker on Robo or Marle. Either works really. Lucca will want her Taban Vest on as well. Once you finish crossing the bridge, Ozzie decides to take all those piles of bones we created and create a giant monster skeleton known as Zombor to assault the party.

Zombor consists of an upper body and a pair of legs, both of which must be turned into dust to win. The giant skeleton is a bit different than what it was in vanilla. In vanilla, the top half was immune to two elements while the bottom was immune to the elements the top half didn't cover. Here though, the top half has high magic defense while the bottom half has high physical defense.

Other then that, the top half's main offense stems from a fire attack that does quite a bit of damage, roughly 150 points worth. Anyone not named Lucca needs a Mid Tonic to reverse the damage if they're struck. Lucca, between her natural fire resistance on top of the 50% the Taban Vest provides, will tank the attack very well.

The top half I presume also has it's mouth laser of doom, but it never got a chance to fire it off before X punched a giant hole through its face. It doesn't go down quietly, using MP Buster to destroy all of the mp of whomever dealt the killing blow.

The lower half is not to be taken lightly though. With the upper half destroyed, it's hellbent on killing targets in one hit and healing itself for the damage dealt. If you toss out your magic spells quick though, you should be able to drop it long before it can cause issues.

Zombor's defeat finally lets you explore the southern half of this region with two major town regions to explore, one of them being Porre.

The first region is right by the bridge. Nothing real special other than one residence with an old man that wants your Naga Bromide from the Cathedral. Hand it over and you can pickup a Soda Tab in return.

On your way south to Porre, check out Fiona's Villa, a place with some forests around it. The lady of the villa whom it's named after is inside. She's not important yet, but will be far into the future. Grab the pair of Mid Ethers before you leave.

When you reach the Porre region, head west first to find the Cursed Woods. Nothing real cursed about it besides some enemies. Gnawers love to eat the T'poles that typically accompany them in battle.

Once you've picked up the Mid Tonic & Shelter from chests, look for a bush in the northern part of the woods. If you check it out, you'll find a ladder leading down to a small cave which is home to our resident amphibious knight Frog. He's still rather mopey and won't join yet, but there's a Magic Scarf you can grab.

In the Porre region, the shop is selling Berets so pickup a few. There's also talk about a Hero coming forth and seeking the fabled Masamune on the Denadoro Mountains north of Fiona's Villa. This is where you'll want to go next.

More next time!
