This video comprises one World Record demo (starts at 12:15), a full outtake demo and several clips of outtakes/successful demos for the challenge of quickly scoring all monsters, items and secrets from a pistol start on Doom 2's Map 13 'Downtown' from a pistol start while taking no damage, whatsoever; a.k.a. UV Max + Reality + Items. There is commentary throughout the video.
Doom 2 speedrunning records are maintained by the DSDA (Doom Speed Demos Archive) at: https://dsdarchive.com/wads/doom2/leaderboard?category=UV Max
My longest ever single-map speedrun to date (as of May 2022) certainly tested my mettle, which may seem strange given that there are no hitscanners in this level.
Overmind, in his 2021 run, collected all items (I will ask the DSDA to acknowledge this when I submit my demo) so I challenged myself to do the same because I am a glutton for punishment. There are bonuses scattered all over this sprawling Sandy Petersen map, and no easy way to get powerful weapons quickly without taking a lot of risk with injury. The BFG is not as useful as you might expect, due to its awkward location and the unreliability of grouping up the chunkier enemies.
Although I am sure some sort of SR40 or SR50 manoeuvre would help me reach the chainsaw secret quicker, I wasn't confident of doing so reliably while
a) under pressure from lost souls and
b) near the end of a long speedrun.
Fortunately, everything came together beautifully for the World Record run, which was so astounding that I stopped attempting immediately, knowing that I was already finding the challenge rather repetitive after a half-kilo of tries and I had benefitted from some fluky infighting in the WR --- not only 7 chunky monsters killed but others injured, too.
I will be taking on longer-still single map speedruns in the coming months; this map has certainly helped train my concentration towards those goals.

Seriously, watch the video, I thought a picture of a partridge made sense at the time. ;-)
