Seaside Siege is definitely not what i expected for a final map. With BFG in hand, you are given over 400 monsters to slay. Cyriak goes from nice unfolding combat to slaughter tripwire. I'm not a huge fan of this map compared to his other maps, however it's not all bad.

I definitely lost time on terms of the cyberdemons. I took my time on the last cyberdemon to two tap dance it, when I should have really yolo'd it at the end. Other than that, this run was pretty decent. I definitely feel like if I practice this one again, I could challenge the map record.

The structure of the castle sets the tone for big battle, but you'd be surprised how dangerous imps can be in this map. About 70% of the monsters are hitscanners and imps, and they will definitely do harm without that BFG. Alternatively, Mouldy gives you plenty of rockets, so yet again you have a choice. For me, it's gotta be BFG all the way.

I liked the whole twist to this one. It didn't follow the exact same pattern as the others as the whole fight was really how it all started. It has proved to me that time and time, Mouldy comes back with these maps, and proves to us doom players that he is the mastermind of semi difficult combat, but he isn't the most cruel (that would probably go to Ribbiks).

Overboard in summary was a great way to play. the maps all fit the theme perfectly, the fights were borderline perfection to a combat specialist such as myself, and not only that, but the references this map threw at us were either pretty cool or pretty funny.

Mouldy takes an amalgamation of weird music, consistent themes, well developed combat and funny jokes and somehow manages to successfully mix them all together at once (which similarly links to the videos on his youtube channel: very weird, funny and just a bit of everything).

If only this was extended out to maybe 2 more maps, and I would probably say that this is my favourite wad of all time. However because there are only 6 official maps in overboard, it can't simply compete with titans such as Sunlust, Tangerine Nightmare and Rush. Therefore, i kinda have to de-rank it, but it will always be in a league of it's own in my eyes.
