Doom Wads/Mods Rise Of The Revisits #1:1994 Tune-Up Community Project
https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/Ports/megawads/1994tu Welcome to the Doom Wads/Mods Special #2, Rise of the Revisits. For all of October 32 wads and mods I've gone over from past seasons and providing new insight on how I found the wad and what I think of it nowadays. [[ ]] Will indicated this new commentary and insight
Kicking off the special is this 2011 megawad which was a winner of the Cacoaward's Mordeth award, it had been nominated many times and consists of a group effort with names like Mr Freeze, General Rainbow Bacon and Pavera re-creating 32 single level pwads which were mediocre or bad and giving them a new coat of paint, and new names like Sweet.Wad and Pie.Wad becoming Bitter-Sweet and Cybiepie.
The overall work that I can see between the original wads (which I played prior to this video filming) and the remade levels is much less rough and better looking, There's some odd placement of weapons and items at times but generally I think it was a good effort to remake old wads of 1994.
[[I'll be honest, 3 years ago when I had begun this series, I was grabbing wads and mods at random as I wasn't sure what I was doing and I didn't think this series would attract much attention, But now I look and with a 12th season coming this November, I believe I've touched a nerve within the youtube community with Doom Wads/Mods.
The overall 21rst wad I tackled, I was quite judgmental because I didn't understand back then how level design can be different as I had been a hardcore vanilla player for a long time prior to getting Zdoom when Seasons 1 through 3 were airing of this series, And I don't recommend anyone looking at them unless, again, you want to see how this series began as the quality is quite up and down but hey, we start somewhere don't we?]]
