https://www.wad-archive.com/wad/1024-ABC-edition As I've talked of before, Concept wads can be a hit or a miss, and throughout the series history I've been tackling some that caught my eye, Even back in the first three seasons of this series I was just getting to know about what concept wads were, But since then I'm generally embraced them for trying to push Doom to new levels.

Released in June 2014, A spin-off of the 1024 concept, this wad is by Joe ilya which was speedmapped within a month and uses the alphabet to create 32 maps all based around a single letter with some being blank walls to skip to the next level, Each map is short and to the point with clumps of enemies placed around along with a track that keeps the adrenaline moving, (such as map02 using ACDC's TNT as the midi track), A couple feel drab such as the finale ZigZag Bridge where you face off with several icon of sins while moving across a Z shaped bridge but I think this spin-off is good despite some rough patches in the last episodes maps.

[[Will be honest, This wad and 1024 Congestion are yet two more wads that I did not like at first and this was when I began to play concept wads which seemed like a pretty dumb idea back then, but I've changed opinions over 3 years. 1024 concept might not appeal to everyone, but it seems like a solid line of wads.

Should note that 1024ABC.Wad is also among the wads that I play regularly either with mods or vanilla style in GZDoom since the maps are short and to the point and gives the challenge you expect without having to rely on gimmicks or anything else]]
