Driver 1 w/ 3D spatial sound 🎧 (OpenAL Soft HRTF audio)
USE HEADPHONES ONLY with any virtual surround like Windows Sonic turned off. Best HRTF effects at 0:03 and 0:40.
This is Driver: You Are the Wheelman with OpenAL Soft's HRTF through DSOAL [IRC_1037 tables]. The cult-classic car chase game has full 3D positional audio on PC and it sounds pretty decent. You only really hear it in first-person view, though, which is really nauseating. Driver 1 holds up pretty well in a few areas (notably the destruction effects), but the controls have aged terribly. There's no analog support, so you have to carefully tap the D-Pad to make turns. If Driver 1 had an XInput mod like the 3D GTA games did on PC, then it would still feel as amazing as it did in 1999.
Special thanks to KingSyphilis for helping me to get this game running on Windows 10. Owners of AMD GPUs must use dgVoodoo 2.54 or else the textures will be blank white on any memory setting.
