This is SuperTux with OpenAL Soft's HRTF [IRC_1037 tables]. It is notable for being the very first 2D platformer I've found to support spatialized audio. It's technically 2D audio since it doesn't use the Z-Axis, but you get the idea. Like those old Steam Audio Unity tests I conducted, the audio position depends on the camera, so sounds above the camera will sound above you and sounds below the camera will sound below you. Does it add a whole lot to this bland Mario clone that has no run button? No, not really, but it's still interesting. I've also played Axiom Verge and Portal Mario, two 2D platformers that also use OpenAL, and both just had flat stereo so there's that.

I know this game is supposed to be GNU-licensed Freeware, but did they have to use such awful sound effects? What the fuck is 4:52 even supposed to be, other than the sound I hear in my nightmares for years to come?
