Exit Fate is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. With 75 characters to recruit, a mixture of typical turn based combat and war battles, and an engaging story, the result is a very Suikoden-esque game.

The latest version of the game can always be found here:

In Matrech currently to speak with Erin about the events of the recent battle.

Upon entering her office, she admits she took Daniel's claim about the deal with the rebels too quickly. She could still hold Daniel responsible for the whole mess, but it won't get anyone anywhere.

That being said, that's not why Erin called Daniel to her office. Turns out an archaeological site to the west of the city was opened up and there's a whole swath of monsters that are preventing anyone from doing any exploration of the site. Naturally, Daniel's asked to head on over to the site and clean out the place of monsters.

Before Daniel can give a response, a soldier comes in saying someone's waiting at the meeting hall for Daniel, a female presence to be precise. Wonder who it could be...

Back at Elysium, Daniel finds his answer when the female waiting in the meeting hall is none other than Daniel's old friend Angel. She wastes no time in wanting the truth about what's happened.

At first, Daniel mentions that he thinks Jovian was the one who framed him for the attack at Kelsinger Pass. Angel starts up a big argument that ends when she gives Daniel a bitchslap. Somehow that convinces Daniel enough that Jovian didn't set him up.

Still, who in Kirgard wanted to betray Daniel if it wasn't someone like Angel or Jovian? Angel doesn't quite believe that, but she does mention that Daniel should remember things better than anyone else, but never did...things nobody could explain.

*Insert Id's theme from Xenogears here"

It's as if Daniel became someone else.

At that moment, Daniel immediately thinks back to the sequence from Faraday University where he met a strange entity that looked like him and, right then, asks Angel what she knows.

As Angel starts recounting the first sight of what she saw happen to Daniel, she mentions back when the war was in its early stages. Daniel joined roughly a month after it started and quickly got into a very bad situation with his comrades after being ambushed.

As Daniel hears this, he recalls what happened there as well, namely that he was nearly hit by a thrown spear, but Angel ended up shoving him out of the way and taking the brunt of the hit.

When Angel asks Daniel if he remembers what Jovian said at that precise moment, Daniel doesn't seem to remember. Everything up to that point he recalls quite vividly, but beyond that...it's all a blank slate.

Angel then mentions that Jovian knew the situation was very very bad, even for him. He told Daniel to take the survivors and run while he held the enemy off. Daniel didn't do that and, as Jovian claims, Daniel slaughtered all the enemy soldiers. When Jovian asked Daniel after he woke up from the aftermath...Daniel acted as if nothing had happened.

At that moment, Daniel recalls the dream he kept having at the beginning of the game where we saw someone that looked just like him standing over a bunch of corpses.

Long story short, what Angel mentioned did indeed happen and Daniel's quite literally shocked. He needs time to process it, but that's when Angel hits him with a dose of reality. Leonius's attack was a distraction as Jovian's squad has been slowly converging at the undefended shores of Oischin. They're poised to attack Matrech in five days.

As if Daniel's day couldn't get any worse, he now has a decision...either give the information to Erin, thereby ensuring Jovian's defeat, or cooperate with Angel & Jovian to ensure victory.

As Daniel begins to muse about everything during the night, he recalls the Kelsinger incident, namely that the camp came under attack from unknown soldiers. Suddenly, Daniel has an idea, but needs to speak with Angel first. Her room's on the west side of the castle up all the stairs in the armory section.

Daniel immediately asks Angel one question...who exactly is Brunhild? Angel seems to know her, but is surprised to hear Daniel mention her name since it's been eight years to her since Daniel last mentioned Brunhild.

Angel's recollection of Brunhild comes with a surprise, namely that Brunhild is Daniel's sister, and a flashback. When a young Jovian & Angel ran into Daniel back in Levier, they were curious where Brunhild was and were met with a very defensive and quite chilling response from Daniel.

After the conversation ends, the time shifts forward to the next day. Daniel's got to make a decision about who he's gonna support, but first, there's the matter of that site Erin mentioned earlier. Luckily, Angel's tagging along and joins the party once more.

More next time!
