Team6 Game Studios churned out a large number of racing games based on their lightweight, flimsy 3D engine. This game, initially released as F-1 Chequered Flag (later briefly released on Steam under the same name in 2015) was also known as X-1 Super Boost and even reissued as Grand Prix Racer X (in Germany).
It's a completely arcade-style game, where hitting other cars increases your boost gauge, there's condensation trails from your rear wing all the time, and there's so much motion blurring that it feels like you're having a migraine or taking drugs! Oh, and using your turbo boost fires flames out the rear of your car, which makes it look like it's on fire!
1. Race Start (Monza): 0:00 This is a track loosely based on the Monza layout. It's the only one with a grey drag sky, but otherwise all tracks seem to feature the same scenery.
2. Spray Effects (Silverstone): 0:27 This track is (very) loosely based on Silverstone. As there's no TV camera view, I opted for the rear view instead. There's no rain (but plenty of sparks and smoke!)
3. Tunnel & View (Monaco): 0:46 I'm not sure what this track is based on (seems to be an oval with road course added), but it has two tunnels and seems to be at night time!
4. Wet Track (Spa-Francorchamps): 1:03 There's no Spa (or rain), so this is another of the tracks in the game. There's a hill and some corners (and a tunnel!) but it's not really quite Eau Rouge like!
5. Pitstop (Interlagos): 1:15 There's no pitstops, and you can't damage your car (crashes award you boost!), so there's no point in stopping!
6. Huge Crash (Montreal): 1:27 This track is loosely shaped on Montreal. Here you can see several large crashes, with flying cars. My car leaps backwards as I hit the edge of a tunnel!
