The conclusion to one of the game's most original quests so far gave me an opportunity to finally recruit a companion to fight alongside my main character. Turns out Boone is an extremely good sniper/support unit who will surely come in handy during large-scale combat scenarios (as he already does during the shoot-out in Boulder City shown in the latter half of this video). The "Companion Wheel" is supposed to make the management of your friend easier, but I've heard the friendly AI still isn't very good.

Upon reaching level 10 I've managed to max out the all-important Guns skill. With that out of the way I can start focusing on upgrading a slightly wider range of skills. The level cap in New Vegas i 30, by the way, which is just the same as in Fallout 3 with the Broken Steel DLC installed.
