Two assassination maps in this video, the second featuring the worst RNG in this run by far.

RNG for the Izlude fight:

12 Ramza - Wizard
12 Crono - Priest
12 Lenneth - Wizard
12 Mitsuru - Oracle
12 Ryu - Squire

As you can see, everyone has access to exactly 12 jobs before this battle, though which jobs those are differs a tiny bit depending on the character. Ramza is the only one with Summoner access for example. It's especially surprising to see Ryu have the same number of jobs accessible in spite of joining a good deal later than most of the cast (I suppose chapter 1 was really short though...).

I was pretty lucky with the RNG for Izlude. So many caster classes and Wizard - the best one for MA - for Lenneth, the only character who has Fire 2 and Magic Attack UP. Lenneth is my best damage dealer in this battle by quite a lot.

Here's the plan - first of all, I reset until Ryu picks up a C-Bag - useless, but makes me rich for a little while, and money is a huge problem for this run. Well worth the 100 JP needed to learn Move Find Item, I think, as invaluable as Chemist JP may be in this run (still haven't decided what to do with Ryu's - either X-Potion or Hi-Ether sounds mint). Ryu has high Brave, so some resets come from not being able to pick it up (it's the rare item).

Second, characters are meticulously positioned and equipped for speed in a way that allows Ramza go first, cast Haste on the two most important attackers, and everyone else bugger off away from the Summoner's attack range. Some really nasty crap could take place depending on his faith and compat, no kidding - better attract him and then block his way with Ramza or whoever while the important units for the strat are occupied with dealing with Izlude.

Izlude... jumps. However, he will not jump when the Jump is too slow to resolve and all of his potential targets are about to move before Jump happens. I can't exactly maintain this for the whole battle unless I go out of my way and thoroughly arrange each character action to attack the air to waste CT, but it's not too tough to do and repeat for the first turn, allowing me to cast two spells at Izlude while he's just standing there.

Next, he WILL Jump, so I cast Protect on my casters beforehand so that they're not top priority. He goes for Ryu - good boy.

My casters somehow survive the physical attacks thrown their way (healing themselves waiting for Izlude to drop on the ground), and then I cast two spells after checking the turn order menu on the exact location Izlude is about to land. Bolt is too quick, but Fire 2 becomes fatal, ending the battle.

Downright terrible RNG for the next Wiegraf fight:

12 Ramza - Lancer
12 Crono - Squire
12 Lenneth - Squire
12 Mitsuru - Squire
12 Ryu - Squire (again)

Yeah, this isn't a joke. All Squires besides Ramza whose Squire job is actually much better than all others. While Lenneth can still make use of Magic Attack UP for some decent firepower, her MA is very poor and all the good caster equipment is unavailable to her. Others are way poorer at dishing out damage, though Ramza is pretty decent with a spear.

Sadly, Jumping on Izlude is a bad idea because I don't have any ranged Jumps and have to do it from an adjacent square. Spear pokes from 2-range will have to do.

One huge problem in this fight is surviving the first attack Wiegraf launches against us. Most of the time, it's Lightning Stab which will target 4 and kill all but one... Just horrible.

Sometimes however, Wiegraf will only have Stasis Sword, which has poorer range and power and thus end up targeting only two and killing absolutely nobody, which makes an enormous difference for our chances to emerge victorious here.

The rest of the enemies will come closer in the meantime. Hopefully they can't heal Wiegraf because a shitty party of 4 lv. 1 Squires can survive for only so long, and the assassination should be carried out as quickly as humanly possible, fulfilling the objective and advancing us further into the storyline with this challenge.

Ramza hopes his spear pokes don't whiff, and I actually get lucky with an enemy Wizard targeting Wiegraf together with Ramza - presumably, because Ramza is out of range otherwise? This is really cool, and kinda necessary too.

Wiegraf also had around 290 HP in this fight, whereas he sometimes gets 380 or so. Obviously, big difference when Fire 2's damage is so unsatisfactory.

This was quite bad, but not too bad... I suppose most people just kill him on turn 1 on most runthroughs (challenge or not)? A very different battle here, but we do want it done fast.
