Grog Hill (probably the hill on which baby Gafgafgrog was born) and Yardow City in this video.

RNG for the Grog Hill fight:

12 Ramza - Summoner
12 Crono - Archer
12 Lenneth - Lancer
12 Mitsuru - Knight
12 Ryu - Oracle

Not an entirely bad RNG here, the highlight probably being Ramza finally getting the Summoner job that he unlocked a couple maps back. Not only does this job have a great future (all sorts of useful summons here), MA is pretty high when casting spells in it. His only spell so far is Bolt, and, of course, I didn't waste the base Summoner JP on Moogle since it's inferior to other Summoner skills and JP is so precious on this run.

The girls are in physical classes - Lancer and Knight, but heavy armour allows them to walk around and tank some hits, though tanking with HP isn't very useful in this game.

Crono was taught Arrow Guard and while it's not terribly good here, with only one Archer around, I have high expectations for it in the next maps to come. It can always be used whenever Weapon Guard is poor or non-existent (such as when you have to reclass to Monk).

The start was pretty rough - Ramza got KO'd after getting attacked by 3 or so guys in a row. Good news is that Speed Save was triggered twice before then so he got more turns in than usual (what with Summoner having the poorest speed, not counting Calculator).

Things went my way when casting a single Bolt made it clear that Ramza can deal pretty nice damage to a lot of the enemies, and Ramza was the centre of my party's offence.

I also made sure to play defensively to cover Ramza from the enemies, creating a wall of the living allies, and would rather use a Hi-Potion with a character who had it than continue attacking enemies - while there were too many of those still.

Unsurprisingly, one Chemist knew how to revive dead allies and when he exposed himself as such I knew whom I'd be focusing on next.

The end of the fight had some sandbagging as neither Ramza nor my Lightning Bow Archer were able to hurt the remaining Chemist due to his Rubber Shoes.

I opened up a chest with one Mythril Gun, and got a second one as a prize. Very timely I must say, as I had two gun-wielding classes given to me by the RNG in the next map.

Yardow RNG:

12 Ramza - Oracle
12 Crono - Monk
13 Lenneth - Mediator
12 Mitsuru - Wizard
12 Ryu - Chemist

Everyone knows this is a bad map, and in this challenge it's a really bad map. 3 Ninjas and 2 female Summoners go against you boasting incredible offensive potential and, of course, at lv. 1 I lack the offensive means to just throw a summon or two at them and pretty much call it a day - my offensive stats and abilities available aren't nearly good enough and enemies are too healthy in relation, what with their high levels.

This is why I decided not to wait until Ramza learns Golem, if ever, and spend my Summoner JP on Titan instead. More powerful than Ifrit/Shiva/Ramuh, still quite fast, but sadly really expensive. After this map, I was able to equip Ramza with stuff that grants him higher MP (being lv. 1 really reminds you of itself when you want to cats a lot of spells that aren't the basic Wizard ones) but here he can only cast Titan once before running out. Since he had a Wizard Rod and not a stick, he was pretty much useless after casting the summon once unless a crystal is nearby, but I did this consciously because the Ninja would just wipe the party away if not finished off really early - that is, about as early as they crawl out of that chokepoint with Malak.

Chemist Ryu and Mediator Lenneth were good here because of the Mythril Guns, reaching any enemy with ease and usually dealing solid 64 damage. Having a Wizard for backup damage with spells also helped, but Wizard's spells are ineffective against Summoners' and Malak's White Robes. Still, it's actual damage and all the chip adds up.

The Monk was the most useless unit, which isn't a surprise, and I was actually pretty close to getting him crystallised. Still, Crono revived some folks and was the one to finish off Malak with a punch midcharge and end this difficult map.

I got more crystals than usual here, and while the stuff was nice, it was hardly anything essential. I suppose I might enjoy Speed Break for some of the bosses ahead? Queklain knows how much those can cripple with decent luck with their accuracy.

And I gotta appreciate how uninvolved Rafa was in the battle after escaping the possible KO from the first two Ninja throws during the first enemy turn. I kinda regret she didn't use more Potions on my Mediator, but I guess it's much safer that way.
