FFT - Level 1 Random Reclass MBO - Part 8: Gafgogfgarland at Gaggorfland Execution Site
Bariaus Valley and Golgorand Execution Site in this video. The second map caused me a lot of headache.

Bariaus Valley RNG:
10 Ramza - Priest
11 Crono - Wizard
9 Lenneth - Priest
11 Mitsuru - Mediator
4 Ryu - Priest
Have a look at that, I got all magical classes (I think Mediator counts as one technically)! 3 Priests, too. This is actually pretty good because not everyone has Wizard access yet.
I have a lot of casters here, so many that I don't have enough Wizard Robes (and Triangle Hats iirc) for all of them. Ramza has Yell so I just assign him to a support role.
Mediator is a new class that we see here and it's a good one for one reason - gun access! Guns don't care about us being level 1 and deal as much damage as normal. I'm not sure if it's a better idea to learn some of Mediator's unreliable status or just save up the JP for Equip Gun. After all, we're getting (hopefully I guess) a magic gun a good bit further ahead from now...
Agrias should be able to take care of the enemies here while my own folks help out preferably without getting killed - Bolt spells are highly effective here, and that's pretty much the best black magic I've got too!
Agrias isn't lv. 1 and as such is fired... but only after we grab her excellent equipment! It's good that we needn't buy any heavy armour at this point in the game.
Golgorand Execution Site RNG:
11 Ramza - Monk
12 Crono - Thief
9 Lenneth - Knight
11 Mitsuru - Oracle
6 Ryu - Knight
I was seriously getting owned here. The RNG was far from grateful - Monk is fragile and weak, Thief is useless (doesn't even have the usual Thief advantage of having above average speed - same 6 speed like most other level 1 classes). Knights are bulky, true, but one is female and thus doesn't deal much damage, plus they don't really absorb more than 2 hits.
The biggest problem was staying alive. Gaf has Night Sword, Archers reach you from pretty much anywhere, and Knights occasionally have Geomancers' skills to make it even worse for you (it's impossible to kill them before they start attacking at close range).
I sorta relied on Mitsuru being my only character with decent damage potential due to having okay MA with all the MA+ equips stacked on her. Didn't give her a rod to power up Bolt or anything, because sticks are a genuinely good means of dealing damage in certain situations (for example, against low Faith targets, or when you can't afford to charge a spell).
Mitsuru was also the only character with Hi-Potion, and I really did need to give her Black Magic secondary. That means I only have Potions and Phoenix Down on most other units for recovery... and that just doesn't do when Gaf and Knights are attacking for 60-90 damage.
I realised that if I wanted to win, I really needed to start wasting JP that I've been saving up for some time in a distant future. The first decision was to teach Crono (Thief) Steal Heart. The only females here are the archers and the time mages and charming one of these hardly made a difference. Gaf was raping everything with Night Sword from long range and it was impossible to run away from him or do anything about it. If Gaf was hasted, it was pretty much gameover.
Desperate, I taught Ramza Weapon Break and gave him Knight's secondary skillset. His purpose was to break Gaf's weapon to disable Night Sword (and also powerful physicals) and attack barehanded for around 20 damage... Makes a huge difference. Weapon Break's chance is 34% from the side, but there's a more than a coinflip chance of succeeding on either of the first two attempts. Monk!Ramza is fragile with no headgear, so he needs to be revived if he fails on the first go, and we have to keep reviving him if he keeps failing.
I suppose this was a lucky attempt, but not fabulously so - the decision to spend the JP for Weapon Break was critical for the success. This also meant Ramza couldn't learn any other Knight abilities for a long while - I really wanted Equip Armour to always have good HP on him.
