Final Fantasy V Pixel Remaster - Ch. 10 - Journey to Galuf's World
Last time, we used the Adamantite to upgrade our airship and reach the floating Ronka Ruins. There were some annoying cannons waiting to greet us, but as Galuf said, "What's a couple of overblown popguns against the likes of us?" Inside, we found King Tycoon and the guardian of the ruins, the Archeovis. Much like with the previous Crystals, King Tycoon was being controlled by Exdeath and the Earth Crystal shatters. Galuf's granddaughter, Krile appears on the fourth and final metoer. King Tycoon is able to snap out of it and reconciles with his daughters, but dies shortly afterwards.
With the four Crystals gone, the seal on Exdeath is released and he is reborn. Galuf and his granddaughter decide to head back to Galuf's home world without the rest of the party. Bartz, Lenna and Faris reluctantly accept Galuf's choice, but then almost immediately change their minds. The party has decided to also leave their planet and head to Galuf's home world. However, the meteors do not have enough power left to warp them there. Surely Cid and Mid should have some ideas. What's gonna happen next??
CHAPTER 10 - GALUF'S WORLD
So we head to the catapult, only to find a note from Cid saying they left to return the extra Adamantite to the Tycoon Meteor. We meet them there to discover that the Admantite reacts to the warp portal and appears to recharge it. However, the Adamantite piece is far to small to fully power it. Therefore, they must combine the power of all four meteorites to be able to warp off planet. You'll have to fight three bosses, one at each of the remaining meteors. You can fight them in any order you wish.
I started with the Walse meteorite, since it's the closest one. Here you'll fight a group of six 'Purobolos', which resemble the fiery bomb monster. This can be a challenging fight due to the fact that Purobolos can self-destruct, as well as revive each other. I decided to switch my party to all Ninjas and head to Lix to buy some scrolls. Purobolos have an HP of 1,500 and can be wiped out in one round by firing off three scrolls. If you kill them all off on the same turn, they won't be able to revive each other. When they self-destruct, they inflict their leftover HP as damage. So you can see how between self-destructing and reviving, that this can be an annoying fight.
Next, we head to the Karnak meteorite, where we'll fight 'Titan'. I only used one Ninja in this battle, but just having one throw some scrolls should finish this fight fairly quickly. Titan has an HP of 2,500 and once its defeated, it becomes a Summon. Yipee! Lastly, we'll head to the fourth meteorite located just south of the Desert of Shifting Sands. Notice how they try to mix it up a bit at each meteorite, to make it less repetitive. Here, Cid and Mid go on ahead but then the party goes to check on them, after they seem to be taking too long. They're being held captive by the 'Chimera Brain', which has an HP of 3,300; making it the strongest of the three. Having a Summoner use Titan against it will deal a nice 1,000 damage. So this shouldn't be too tough of a fight.
Afterwards, Cid and Mid will show you a spot on the map where the four meteorites intersect (reminds me of FF1). That's where we'll need to head in order to warp to Galuf's world. Make sure you do everything you'd like to do on the home world before proceeding (buy spells, collect summons, learn blue magic, etc). We land on a small island and decide to camp out to rest. In the middle of the night, a monster called an 'Abductor' will appear and take Lenna and Faris. Bartz will get the option of actually fighting the Abductor. If you win, you get an Ether and an entry for Abductor on your beastiary. But it's not required, so I didn't try too hard to pull it off. You'll awake in a jail cell and are greeted by Exdeath.
Galuf and his forces were about to storm Exdeath's castle, but retreat as they see images of Bartz, Lenna and Faris projected in the sky. Galuf will continue on his own to infiltrate Exdeath's castle. To be continued...
