Been meaning to start another non-LTC Fire Emblem run, which will hopefully get me back into uploading videos on YouTube and get me out of my rut in general. Let's go over the rules right away!

- Hard Mode
I initially started the same challenge on Lunatic and quickly realised it's not going to be feasible, though I did make it to chapter 3, which is also when Frederick needs to be switched out if the rules of the challenge are followed consistently. Naturally, I invested everything (that includes rigged level-ups) into Chrom, who entered the map at lv. 9 on steroids, but the future of such a run remained questionable considering the poor support he received from the rest of the low level team.

- Lowest Level
Before each map, I select the units whose levels are the lowest. Prepromotes and units promoted at lv. 10 or 20 are counted as equals. Second seals may be used (may change my mind on this later on), but the characters' real level is used to determine whether they will be used or not. Units like Virion want a quick reclass into something like Wyvern Rider for better utility, as with low-level characters switching in and out we can't really rely on pair-up partners to offer good bonuses at all times.

- No Paralogues / Children Units
Keeping it Mandatory Battles Only makes the experience spread around very limited. Children are strong, though you could argue they make the party weaker by needing to switch between multiple units at once. I haven't decided if I want to recruit Donnel yet (it should make the army a little weaker in the end), but I'm definitely not recruiting Anna.

- No forges / tonics / stat boosters / deaths
No deaths is obvious, I think? Banning forges and tonics is just a little extra, as I feel the run isn't challenging enough as it currently is.

Prologue
Having just recorded a Lunatic clear of this, it's mind-boggling how different this is on Hard. Fred doesn't need to use the silver lance at all, and Chrom is indestructible to physical blows when paired up with him. Robin is also more than capable of getting some kills supported by Lissa. She can also get countered by mages and tank the hit really easily for Chrom to benefit from the kill exp. Chrom is worth investing into as the sole character on the field in every single map of the game.

Chapter 1
On Lunatic, I needed rigged +def levels on Chrom to have decent chances of soloing the map. Here, I don't need that any longer, and the enemies are also wimpier for me to feed kills to the likes of Sully. Starting to feed exp to Virion is a good idea as he's a tough unit to find enemy phase use for, what with other weapon types having readily available 1-2 range options.

Chapter 2
This was a nightmare to do on Lunatic (I keep talking about this so much; maybe I should upload those clears as well just to showcase the difference), with all the mountain tanking and characters moving on from dying to two rounds of combat to being OHKO'd and one-rounded. Here, nobody seems to be in particular danger of dying. The enemy strength and density are lower, the former especially so, and you can easily pull the northern enemies in groups, too. It's easy to feed kills to weaker units like the recently joined Miriel.

I decided I wouldn't be resetting for better level-ups. That should make things more entertaining if somebody gets RNG screwed, Chrom being a character of particular concern, I suppose.
