Highest-levelled non-Chrom unit: Lon'qu (8.11)

I was previously unsure whether I want to visit Anna's paralogue, as was the case with Donnel's, but decided the more characters I'd have later the merrier. Joining as a lv. 1 Trickster, and very likely to accumulate experience in her map as well due to being a competent combat unit and healer with mobility rivaling my mounted units, Anna can't be expected to return to the active roster for a while after the map, but with levels approaching promotion range, I should be looking at the opportunity to promote the likes of Ricken and Miriel soon, leaving more experience for units who can actually take more than one round of combat. On a second though, quite a few of them cannot really pull that off, unless they are glued to Kellam.

Both fliers are back with the worst timing possible after two back-to-back desert chapters, OHKO'd by steel bow archers to boot. Sumia gets paired with Chrom, who may be offering her Great Knight bonuses in the very distant future like a beefy lategame Frederick of sorts, so it helps to build their support. Meanwhile, Cordelia pairs up with Gaius so that the latter can double the likes of 17 spd mercs. Lon'qu can frequently achieve the same with his Panne support, which also improves his damage output.

Stahl is back to enjoy his tried and true duo with Kellam, both giving each other a ton of physical defence in addition to some other stats - Kellam can occasionally stop himself from being doubled with the support he receives. It's logical to have them take the left-hand side of the map where no magical units dwell, letting Stahl take on barbarians and archers with ease. Kellam can be switched in to grow more competent in stats and weapon rank, but not enough to rival the competition in level.

I fail to achieve the same with Vaike, going a little overboard with the exp he receives as an active party member. As a consequence of this, he will not be deployed in the next map, which is kind of a big deal as his pair-up bonuses to Nowi, with whom he has already built support, would let her do things like OHKO the thieves escaping with valuable equipment while denting the other enemies and improving her tanking capacities. It's okay; he'll be back, and I'll try not to repeat the mistake. Nowi's been using her only Dragonstone very well, and luckily for us she'll get access to another one in two maps from now so that we can continue using her. Bulky 1-2 range is not easy to find, though Tharja and Henry will be joining soon enough for some really cancerous strats.

Pairing up with Sumia makes Chrom reach Anna before her risk of death becomes very real, even though she faces some odds of dying from the onset if the attacks keep connecting - her defensive stats are lacking in spite of her having the HP stat of a promoted unit. Anna is then in perfect position to intercept the thief shooting for an arms scroll in the northeastern corner of the map, which I guess doesn't count as a stat booster? No idea what to do with it yet, as Chrom can get his lance rank up easily enough.

The other prizes include a large Bullion (very little to do with these for now aside from buying more javelins and steel weapons), a talisman and a killing edge. The latter, third copy of its kind, is neat to have around with so many units with C-rank swords being in play from time to time.

Pulling the boss with Sumia was definitely a bad idea and could have backfired considering that the Elwind mage struck first on the subsequent turn. The boss has only 91 hit though, so he was the one who had a coin-flip chance of whiffing his short axe attack. I'm lucky I didn't have to reset here. Since Chrom doesn't mind extra exp in the least, I probably should've not gathered so many units in the north for self-improvement and just lowmanned with juggernaut Chrom and his new pairup buddy. A wise idea to remember for future maps.

I fed the bosskill to Chrom nonetheless, repeating previous turn's risky behaviour with the boss going below 50% HP, which gives him extra crit. He's so unlikely to connect an attack on Anna that it doesn't matter though (she's also got one heck of a luck stat). He should be promoting in a map or two after ramming his level cap. About time!
