A desert chapter, done without Lissa and Miriel and both of my fliers, seeing how they levelled up too much in the past maps. I am left with Ricken as my sole unit whose mobility is not hindered by the terrain, and you can imagine there isn't that much he can do without some kind of unholy combination of Kellam pair-up and tonics - the latter are banned in this run for now and would make a lot of impossible strategies plausible with some work.

In practice, what this mean is that I take things more slowly - one other thing Sumia and Cordelia are good at doing is ORKOing people, which is mostly unattainable for just about everybody in the party right now. Chokepoints are created and blocked by the bulkier units, but most of it is played like on a normal brisk-pace / casual run just without units capable of routing the map.

Nowi and Gregor are the new units who will be competing for party slots from now on. Nowi is fairly underlevelled as a lv. 3 Manakete, and her great bulk coupled with low level will mean she will be able to tank hits well whenever she's in the party - I suppose her effectiveness means she will overlevel very easily as well. Gregor is not very wanted as a lv. 10 Mercenary, having no instant 1-2 range offence and giving rather mediocre pair-up bonuses. I am thinking of reclassing him to Barbarian some time, as that will give 1-2 range just the way a promotion to Hero would do and make him amazing for doubling and killing things. Donnel's reclass will have to come first, though, and I'm undecided about any other reclasses beside that (considering Cavalier Chrom, Wyvern Panne and Wyvern Virion however).

I seem to have better luck getting weaker pair-up bots in this map than usual despite the terrain difficulties. Kellam, Vaike and Gaius all get some much-needed level-ups. The villages include a second seal and a master seal besides another Rescue staff that I will probably horde considering the lack of incentive to clear maps quickly (there might be some defensive and convenience uses I fail to see right now). Who should be promoted is another question I should entertain answering. Units with plenty of combat utility could stay unpromoted as they already have the stats necessary for one-rounding - I see no point in getting Sumia or Cordelia promoted too soon for instance. On the other hand, do I want the likes of Virion or Ricken being fielded in the midgame maps before the others have caught up? I suppose there's no easy response, and whatever I go with will shape the way the midgame maps play out. I can always promote Chrom when he rams the level cap, at least.

What best uses do YOU see for early master seals and second seals on this run?
