- 3 large apples (preferably Granny Smith or Golden Delicious)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
2. Peel, core, and dice the apples into small chunks. Toss the diced apples with lemon juice to prevent browning and set aside.
3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
4. In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
