Ingredients:
- 1 cup Makhana (Fox Nuts)
- 1 cup Milk Powder
- 1 cup Condensed Milk
- 1/4 cup Ghee (Clarified Butter)
- 1/2 teaspoon Cardamom Powder
- Slivered Almonds and Pistachios for garnish
Instructions:
1. Heat a non-stick pan on medium heat and dry roast the Makhana (Fox Nuts) until they turn crispy and slightly brown. Remove from heat and let them cool down.
2. Once cooled, grind the roasted Makhana into a fine powder using a blender or mixer grinder.
3. In the same pan, heat the ghee and add the Makhana powder. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes on low heat.
4. Add the milk powder and condensed milk to the pan. Stir continuously to avoid any lumps.
5. Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan. This should take around 8-10 minutes.
6. Add cardamom powder to the mixture and mix well.
7. Remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool down slightly.
8. Once the mixture is cool enough to handle, grease your palms with ghee and shape the mixture into small pedas (round discs).
9. Garnish each peda with slivered almonds and pistachios.
10. Allow the pedas to cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container.
