Welcome to Game Play. A series, of sorts, where I check out various video games and share my experiences with you.

Today we're taking a look at Destiny 2 (Playstation 4 Pro).

When Destiny 2 was first announced, I found myself pretty excited. I'd been playing vanilla Destiny for a few years and always came back whenever a new DLC was released. With each passing DLC I felt the game became better for the most part, although I strongly disagreed with the introduction of the in-game shop.

At first, Destiny 2 was surprisingly disappointing. I felt it added nothing new to the formula and it felt rushed to market. After a while it became clear how chaotic the game's development had been, but Bungie kept on working and improving the game.

The first couple of DLC's were, let's be honest, disappointing. With campaigns only lasting a few hours, the game offered nothing to keep my interest and Destiny 2 was quickly put back on the shelf. I decided to check out Forsaken, and a part of me wish I hadn't but I'm still glad I did.

I'm not that impressed with how the DLC turned out. To me, at least, it felt too grindy to a point where I can't say I fully enjoyed the ride. It felt as a chore to complete the campaign which was a shame, to be honest.

But I am glad that I finished the DLC to get the full story of the game and universe. Mostly to simply say that I've completed Destiny 2 as much as I'm willing to invest in its story, at least. I'm looking forward to see what they'll come up with in Destiny 3, however, since the ending of Forsaken might imply that we, as Guardians, might not be on the good side.

Destiny 2 is a decent game in terms of its story and lore but the gameplay is simply too grindy for my taste. The game feels like a job and a chore to complete, but if you're into the social aspect and don't mind shooting things, Destiny 2 is right up your alley.

The game was recorded directly on the console with no external capture card used. It has not been edited in any way or fashion. And yes: I did jump off the tower in the end but I was actually trying to activate Zavala ;)
