Highlighting The Differences Between The Switch 2 Bundle & Stand Alone Boxes
The Nintendo Switch 2 launch has been very exciting, and one of the neat things is the fact that we got 2 different completion levels at launch. One version of the Switch 2 comes with just the system, and the other version includes the system and a digital copy of Mario Kart World. Since there are 2 variants off the system, we decided to take a look at the box for each version and see what, if any, differences there are between the two of them.
The box for the Nintendo Switch 2 is definitely inspired by the box for the Nintendo Switch OLED, in shape, size and artwork. I know a lot of people may think the design and styling of both the OLED and Switch 2 look too similar and may cause some confusion to the consumer. But I, myself, don’t think there will be any confusion is that you won’t see the Switch 2 on shelves; they will be behind lock and key and you’ll have to get a sales associate to get you a system.
Looking at the boxes themselves, the Switch 2 and Switch 2 Mario Kart 2 bundle are virtually identical. Front, sides, and back, it looks exactly the same between the Nintendo Switch 2 and the Switch 2 Mario Kart Bundle. The only real difference between the 2 boxes is the sticker on the front of the box to indicate the bundle versus the stand alone unit.
For me, I’m not thrilled about a few things with the system configurations. First and foremost I wish the bundle came with a physical game cartridge. I know they went with a digital download code to save money, but I think that’s lazy and I don’t like it myself. I wish the Bundle included a physical case and cartridge. Secondly, I do wish the box or the system was slightly different, like reversing the Joy-Con 2 colors would have been nice.
What do you think about the design differences, or lack there of, between the Switch 2 and Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle? Would you like to see more differences? Share your thoughts in the comments.
