How to Change Profile Picture or Avatar on STEAM Account (Best Method)
0Changing your profile picture (or avatar) on Steam is a simple and common process. The "best method" is to do it directly through the Steam client's profile editing features, as it gives you the option to upload a custom image or choose from a wide selection of official game avatars.
Step-by-Step Guide
Open the Steam client on your computer and log in to your account.
In the top menu bar, hover your mouse over your current profile name. From the dropdown menu, select "View my profile".
On your profile page, click the "Edit Profile" button on the right-hand side.
In the menu on the left side of the "Edit Profile" page, click on "Avatar".
You now have two main options:
Upload a Custom Avatar: Click the "Upload Your Avatar" button. This will open a file browser, allowing you to choose an image from your computer. Steam recommends an image that is at least 184x184 pixels. You can crop and position the image after uploading it.
Choose a Game Avatar: Below the upload option, you'll see a gallery of avatars from games you own. You can also click "See all" to view a larger collection of official game avatars provided by Steam.
