About this video: So first things first, why do you need Java for Minecraft? Well, Java is what Minecraft uses to actually run. Minecraft is built on Java, and while Minecraft installs Java for itself with you install Minecraft, it doesn’t allow you to get Minecraft mods or run Minecraft servers. For that, you will need to install Java manually on your computer. That is where this video comes in. We will show you every single step of downloading and install Java for Minecraft including how to fix some of the issues you may have when installing Java for Minecraft mods and servers.
Oddly enough though, you don’t need Java for Minecraft mods and servers. What you need is the Java Development Kit. Thus, in this video, we also show you how to get the Java Development Kit for Minecraft also known as the JavaJDK. This is all done and completed in this video so, without anymore delay, let’s install Java 16 for Minecraft!
The first step of getting Java for Minecraft is downloading it. You can find the link to download Java in the description above. When you click that link, it will actually take you to our website where you will find a complete guide on how to download and install Java for Windows 10 and Minecraft Mods and servers. This is a great way to go through the process of getting Java at your own pace without having to stop-and-start the video.
On our website, scroll down until you see the yellow Download Java Development Kit button. Click that button, and you will go to the official Java download page. On this page, click the download button next to the Windows x64 Installer. A terms agreement will then appear. Click the check box and click the Download button. You may need to keep or save the file depending on your browser.
After you have downloaded Java for Minecraft downloaded, double click on the JDK file you downloaded. This will open the Java Development Kit installer for Minecraft. Click Next twice, and Java 16 will install. Then, click ‘close’. You have now installed Java for Minecraft. At this point, you can play Minecraft mods, run a Minecraft server, or do anything else you need Java 16 for.
You may still have some .jar files that doesn’t work perfectly. This is because they are not associated with Java. This sounds like it could be difficult to fix, but the good news is we a link in the description above to a simple three step tutorial on how to use the Jarfix. This will link the .jar files on your computer to Java 16.
