Well, to do this, you have to get the Roughly Enough Items mod as Too Many Items isn’t updated to 1.17.1. The good news is that Roughly Enough Items has all of the features TMI has and more. So, without anymore delay, here is how to download and install Roughly Enough Items in Minecraft 1.17.1!
The first step of getting Roughly Enough Items in 1.17.1 is downloading and installing the Fabric Mod Loader. You can find the Fabric download link in the description above. Once you are there, click the .jar download. Then, right-click on the file you downloaded, and open it with Java. Then, install Fabric 1.17.1 using the installer.
After you have Fabric installed, we can move on to download Too Many Items for 1.17.1. Remember that the file we are actually downloading ins Roughly Enough Items 1.17.1. You can find the download page for REI above. That will take you to our website where you can click the ‘Download Roughly Enough Items’ button to be taken to the official download page on CurseForge. Look at the right-hand sidebar and scroll down until you see the ‘Minecraft 1.17’ section. Under that, you will see the 1.17.1 version for REI. Click the orange download button to the right of this file to start downloading Roughly Enough Items 1.17.1!
You will need to repeat the above CurseForge download process for the Architectury API, Cloth Config, and Fabric APIs above. These are all required for Too Many Items/Roughly Enough Items 1.17.1.
After you have Roughly Enough Items and the compatibility mods downloaded, we can move on to getting them installed. To do this, press the Windows Key on your Keyboard and ‘R’ at the exact same time. This will open up the Run program. In this app, type ‘%appdata%’ in the text box and hit enter. Your Roaming folder will open. In this folder, you will have a .minecraft folder. Open that, and you will see a ‘mods’ folder. If you don’t have a mods folder, create one!
Finally, to install Roughly Enough Items in 1.17.1, drag-and-drop Roughly Enough Items, the Architectury API, Cloth Config, and the Fabric API into your mods folder. You now have TooManyItems installed in 1.17.1!
You aren’t complete finished though. You still need to open up the Minecraft launcher, click the little arrow next to the play button, select the Fabric version, and click Play. Minecraft 1.17.1 will open up with TooManyItems installed!
